Selena's POV

"I still couldn't believe you are now the reigning queen of Isla Verde," I mumbled as I sat down beside my sister on our veranda facing the ocean below. Gwen was grinning from ear to ear.

"Thank you, Selena. I couldn't make it without your support, guys. I was shocked to see Stanley during the pageant, and I couldn't be happier." She responded, but the smile on her face changed into a scowl.

"What is wrong? You must be happy. You've got what you wanted," I replied as I gazed at her lovely face.

"I just felt disappointed that some of the candidates were talking behind my back. I overheard them talking backstage. I only won because they thought Skyler was your husband." She answered with pain in her voice.
