Selena's POV

"Merry Christmas, everyone!" I heard Skyler's voice echoed the entire hall, and I could listen to the rest greet him back with too much enthusiasm while I was still holding my breath.

I felt him pull out of the chair and sit beside me. His familiar intoxicating scent made me feel like jelly, and I wanted to run and never return to this place since I knew I wasn't over him. I was afraid if he talked nicely to me, I would embarrass myself.

"Selena, you can't eat with your eyes close," Skyler whispered, and his deep muscular voice made my entire body covered with goosebumps.

I didn't reply to him as I slowly opened my eyes and looked at my plate, and when I raised my head, my face flushed as I realized all eyes were on us.

"How are you, Skyler?" My dad breaks the tension, and I never expected he would betray me by talking nicely to Skyler.

"I am good, Mike," he responded, and I could feel he was tense.
