Capítulo 13: Pei Ling
As Liao Ling was married to Meng Yu, she had special permissions from the Emperor to not have to pay respects or any other difficult tasks.
So she became even more carefree.
'Meng Yu~ Meng Yu~ ' It hasn't even been a couple of days and she was already missing Meng Yu.
She knew that he was meeting his brother and was about to go to him to pay her respect at least. But that was when she heard-
"Meng Yu, You should take Mei'er as a concubine."
She had her eyes in surprise and she tilted her head. 'What a good brother, I should knock some sense into him.'
However she immediately calmed down as Meng Yu was adamant about not take a concubine.
She blushes, twirling her hair while remembering what he said, 'Ling'er is enough for me. In this life, I don't want to marry anyone else.'
'I'm falling for you even more now.' She smiles uncontrollably.
Meng Chang spoke, "I just…ai~ I really don't want to force you, Meng Yu, but Mei'er has served you since you were 13. If she becomes your concubine, I can be relieved!"
At this point she snapped, 'You little rotten bastard, you're still trying!'
Seeing as Meng Yu was getting pushed to get a concubine even more, she grew more annoyed.
"No Way!"
She stormed in and hugged Meng Yu from behind. Meng Yu almost dodged instinctively, but controlled himself at the last second.
She looked at Meng Chang, "Oi, Brother in Law, we just got married, aren't you a little shameless to bring a concubine!?"
Seeing them hug each other Meng Chang gripped his clothes. "Sister in law has misunderstood, I just thought that it'd be hard for you, so I wanted Meng Yu to take a concubine."
'A-are my eyes deceiving me? She took the opportunity to hug Meng Yu? And from the looks of it…She doesn't remember me?!'
His ego became a little bit hurt, but he kept smiling.
Meng Yu just kept quiet and drank more tea.
"I can take care of my husband whether it be day activities or night activities!"
"Pffft!" Meng Yu almost spit out the tea he had just drinked.
Meng Chang, felt even more annoyed and blew out air.
"So, I'll have to refuse brother in law to not care about Meng Yu's marriage!"
She then kissed Meng Yu on the cheek in front of Meng Chang causing him to look away in anger.
Meng Yu's body was stiff and he turned to look at Liao Ling, tilting his head as if saying, 'Do you not know the word shame?'
Liao Ling didn't get the message and only thought that Meng Yu was just being shy in front of his brother.
"...I'm leaving. Meng Yu, think about what I've said." He tried to leave before Liao Ling and Meng Yu made him even more angry.
But before that he stopped in front of the entrance and turned around to ask Liao Ling, "By the way sister in law. Don't you remember me?"
This was at least saving a little bit of his ego.
"....No clue." She looked at him and honestly couldn't remember. 'I met him? Since I can't remember, he must not have been important.'
Seeing as she really had no idea Meng Chang reminder her, "Pei Ling."
Liao Ling froze and scratched her head, "Looks like you do know me."
Seeing this reaction he smiled and pointed to himself. "Meng Chang, remember it from now on, you'll be seeing me more."
'Eventually the day where I don't call you sister in law will come!'
And then he turned around and left.
Meng Yu was a little confused and couldn't help asking Liao Ling, "Pei Ling?"
She smiled awkwardly, but told the honest truth.
"It's the name I give to people I hate…"
"Pftt." Meng Yu started laughing uncontrollably.
Remembering his older brother saying the name Pei Ling so confidently, he truly couldn't stop laughing and even held his head down so that no one could see him laughing his ass off.
Liao Ling just smiled at Meng Yu laughing and felt warm in her heart, 'looks like you can laugh so happily too.'
This was the first time seeing the true Meng Yu. Not an elegant prince, but a person.

"Is it that funny?" At first she wanted to keep quiet, but for the past 5 minutes Meng Yu still had his head down and his shoulders were jumping up and down wildly.
"I-I can't S-stop…T-this is the f-first time since the past 6 y-years I've laughed."
She felt sympathy and patted his shoulders.
"Don't worry, with me here I'll make you the happiest man in the world."
"Pft." Hearing this, the somewhat contained laughter broke out again. 'Isn't that what guys say to their lovers?'
"Y-yeah."
This time his answer wasn't a broad answer. He was genuinely happy.
