The Urokai sect like most sects is divided into two areas, the Outer Sect, and the Inner Sect areas.
The Outer Sect area is where most of the lower-leveled disciples and newly joined disciples are staying along with the mortal servants.
Cultivators in the Ikram continent are divided into two realms. The lower one is called the Energy Perception stage, and the higher one is called the Law Perception realm.
Under the Energy Perception Stages, there are the Body Refining, the Spirit Refining, the Meridian Refining, and the Dantian Condensing stages.
Under the Law Perception realm, there are the Four Elements Realm (fire, wind, water, and earth), Sky Realm, and Void Realm.
Now those that belong to the Outer Sect are those that have not reached the Dantian Condensing stage. And those that belong here are the ones responsible for many of the sect's menial workings.
There are even mortals staying in the Outer Sect as laborers, scribes, and servants.
In the Outer Sect, there is a large manor that belongs to the Outer Sect head and his family. In this Manor is a small old courtyard and this is where Wu Hyuna is currently staying.
She had met with the Outer Sect master, but she did not say anything and just lifelessly looks at the man standing beside that beautiful lady.
Ever since she was accepted into the sect, she felt a bit lost as she would always cry her eyes out while looking at the windows sadly or would be walking mindlessly in the old courtyard.
The beautiful woman would always visit her and takes good care of her.
As time flew by, it was already a week since she came to the sect and her mind is still in turmoil as she was truly traumatized by what happened to her mother and the village.
As she sits looking at the sky above, two figures as watching her from the entrance of the courtyard.
"Sigh… this little kid is truly pitiful." The beautiful woman muttered with a sad tone.
The petite middle-aged man beside her with clean shaven beard looking a bit handsome for his age carefully grabbed her hand and then caresses it gently.
"It's been a while since you've come out of the sect that is why you seem to forget the harshness of the lives of the mortal people out there." He said while showing a faint smile.
"Sigh… I know, but I could not just turn a blind eye and not see the suffering of this child." She said while heaving a helpless sigh.
"I know… why don't we let Little Kwan play with him for a while. The two boys would surely have fun together, right?" the man said.
"Are you stupid? Kwan is already about to break through to the Spirit Refining stage… What if he hurts that kid?" the woman said with a frown.
These two are Il San Joon, one of the elders of the sect and the head of the Outer Sect, and the woman is his wife, Mi Jin-ah.
They decided to take Wu Hyuna in their care after the other heads of the Inner Sect did not want to keep her.
They call her, a useless boy.
Not only is his body weak for a boy, but he also acted like a little girl, so they feel that the child is truly weak even for a mortal.
When Mi Jin-ah saw Wu Hyuna for the first time she thought that she is a little girl. That is why when she was neglected by that bunch of old men, she quickly took the child in.
Though she discovered that the child is a boy, she still likes him as the child looks gentle and kind.
The next morning…
A shadow suddenly barges inside the old courtyard and secretly sneaked inside the room.
The still-sleeping Wu Hyuna did not wake up.
But then she suddenly heard someone talking.
"Hmm… He is a guy, but he looks like a girl…" the young voice said.
She slowly opened her eyes and saw a little boy looking straight at her.
The boy is wearing a dark blue robe with his long hair tied in a ponytail. Though still young, his arms are already defined and he looks masculine for his age.
But the handsome feature on his face shows that the young boy has outstanding parental genes.
"Oh, you're awake… Why are you a sleepy head?" the young boy asked.
"I'm Il Kwan… Don't bother introducing yourself… I already know your name… Wu Jin, right?" the little boy showed a smug look on his face.
"I heard from my father that you are so weak that you are like a little girl. I suggest that you come with me…" he said as he suddenly grabbed the little hand of Wu Hyuna and then drags her out of bed.
With his strength, he easily forces her out.
"Ouch!" she cried in pain.
Il Kwan was a bit stunned and felt worried immediately. He recalled his mother telling him that he should be careful of his strength.
"Sorry, about that… I just wanted to play with you since you don't have anyone to play with…" he suddenly said feeling a bit guilty.
In fact, when he heard that there is a small boy now living in the small old courtyard, he was truly happy and excited.
His mother did not want him to play with other little boys in the sect as he would always cause trouble with them.
So he has to play with the big boys. But those fellows are bullies and he did not like them.
Seeing that there is someone his age in this place truly made him excited.
He wanted to scold his father and mother when he discovered that it was already a week since the little kid arrive so how could he not meet the guy himself?
Now that he had seen the guy, he truly liked him. He wanted to keep him for himself.
Wu Hyuna did not know why there is a strong little kid in her room. But seeing the enthusiasm of the little boy, she could not help but recall all her playmates in the village.
She quickly draped on a sackcloth robe and followed behind Il Kwan.
The two walked towards the training grounds where there are many big brothers of the Outer Sect training their bodies early in the morning.
When the guys saw her, they all thought that she was really a girl because of the way she moves. But knowing that she is a boy made them feel that something is weird with her.
Il Kwan showed off and lifted 50 kilos of weight.
She just watches in awe at the young boy.
She walked to the side and tried to carry the weight and was flabbergasted that she is unable to carry it.
"Haha… You can't carry it, you're just a mortal…" a mocking tone scoffs at her behind her back.
When she turns around, she saw a petite-looking boy smirking at her.
"I… I just want to try…" she said shyly.
"Go there… try those…" he said while pointing at the other weighted stones.
She looks at the numbers and then picks one that is only about 2 kilos.
She was easily able to lift it.
"Hey, Jin… you can try these ones every day… who knows, maybe someday you might suddenly awaken and be as strong as me…" Il Kwan said showing his white teeth as he grinned.
Wu Hyuna spent her entire morning in that area meeting new friends and talking with other kids her age.
But she noticed that all of the kids in that place are males. She then learned that the females are in another training area, so they are separated.
At lunch, Il Kwan took her and her aching muscles to the mess hall.
There she saw many children her age and others much older than them eating in one large hall.
There are many pretty girls and women in that place which made her feel curious.
So she began to look at them.
She noticed that some of the little girls would blush when she looks at them which confuse her a bit.
"Damn, Little Kwan… This friend of yours is a natural ladies' man…" a teenage boy commented as he took a seat opposite side of Il Kwan and Wu Hyuna.
The guy showed a wide grin on his face while looking at her.
"Big brother Han! When did you come back?" Il Kwan excitedly asked.
"Hehe… This morning… We went deeper into the forest this time and caught a lot of fierce beasts… Some of them are even savage beasts." The teenager called Big Brother Han by Il Kwan boasted.
The rest of the children by the table quickly gathered and listened to him while eating.
Seeing that he has an audience, Han Chulsoo stood up and then narrates to them his story of venturing into the deep forest outside of the outer sect area.
The kids were amazed by his stories and quickly dreamed of them being able to also venture outside and go on an adventure.
Wu Hyuna on the other hand showed a hint of fear in her eyes upon hearing about the dangerous creatures outside.
She could not imagine how fierce those creatures were. But then her expression suddenly changes as she recalled her promise to her mother.
She promised her that someday she would become strong and would find the person that took her mother away from her.
She suddenly has a burning passion to become strong, as strong as her mother whom she knew could hunt those kinds of beasts on her own.
…
After that lunch, Wu Hyuna came back to the old courtyard and decided to practice like those people in the morning and at night she would secretly practice writing the images in her mind.
And so, from that time forth, Wu Hyuna would wake up in the morning and go with Il Kwan to the training ground to practice.
But it seems that Mi Jin-ah as another plan for the little girl as she would call her into the large manor every day and make her learn something else.
