Chase thought this year would also end up like usual.
Unexpectedly, the teacher announced something surprising.
A new student has transferred into their school.
Apparently, it is rare for their school to have a new student.
So this was surprising.
Everyone watched as the new transferee entered the room.
She looks pretty and athletic.
Her face holds a cold look.
"This is Amanda Reeve." the teacher introduced,
Amanda didn't say a "Hi".
She didn't smile.
She remained her cold look.
Her eyes sent chills to everyone including the teacher.
She went towards the only empty seat where no one wants to sit.
The seat beside Chase.
'She looks pretty but she might be one of them.' Chase looked to his side without turning his head.
After the first period, the teacher announced that they would not have any other periods due to an urgent meeting.
"Use this time to get to know the new student better. Also, no one is to leave the classroom until the bell rings."
As the teacher left, everyone then jumped for joy.
All except Chase and Amanda.
After a while, a group of girls went over to Amanda.
One girl who is the leader of the girl group sat at her desk,
"Hey, new girl! I'm Amelia" She smiled,
"Hello," Amanda looked up without a smile.
"I'm quite popular around here, and also, since you are pretty like me, you can join the gang."
Amanda didn't reply,
"Whaddya say?" She snatched the book Amanda was reading,
"I'll think about it," She snatched it back,
"Okay. Now tell me, are you rich?" Amelia leaned,
Amanda gave her a death glare as a reply,
"What do you think?" Amanda looked.
Amelia turned pale and walked away from her.
'Boring,' Amanda spins her pen,
- lunchtime
Amanda walked up to the roof of the building to relax.
Not long after she heard someone crying.
She went to the other side to see who it was.
"Didn't expect to meet a baby in junior high" Amanda looked at Chase,
"What do you want?" Chase balled his fist,
"If you're looking for a fight, I won't hesitate." He glared as he wiped his tears
"I'm not in the mood for a fight. Besides, you can't land a hit on me." Amanda leaned her back against the wall crossing her arms.
"Then why are you talking to me?" Chase stared at the floor,
"I just want you to stop crying. You're ruining my mood." Amanda walked off.
For some reason, Chase felt disappointed.
He always hoped he could at least have one friend.
