"Speech"
Arc 3: Unknown Discovery - Chapter 27
"I'm sorry, what did you say?" I ask Bayonetta in disbelief. She is lounging casually on the single massive bed we all share, except for Namine. Namine has her own bed a little further away. Bayonetta's eyes glint with amusement as she stretches, her long, elegant limbs sprawling out lazily on the soft covers. Everyone else is scattered around, lost in their own thoughts, but my focus remains solely on Bayonetta, waiting for her to repeat herself.
"I said that you should prepare for a sleepless night. There will be a night event for all students in the Action Genre." Bayonetta repeated calmly. "Assassins will be attacking them and their contractors in the middle of the night to see how many would react to dealing with deadly, powerful assassins trained by the high school."
Bayonetta stretched lazily as if the idea of facing such danger was merely a trivial matter to her. Her eyes glinted with a mix of excitement and confidence, clearly unfazed by the incoming night event.
Namine, in her own bed a bit further away, glanced over her expression of curiosity. Ruby and Weiss in the room shifted uncomfortably, the weight of Bayonetta's words sinking in.
"Uh, Bayonetta, was it? How do we exactly tell the time in high school?" Ruby asks. She wrapped herself tightly in her red cloak, using it like a blanket for comfort. "I kind of guess there must be a way to tell time here other than checking the weather outside, but even then, I don't think that would work."
"I would be able to tell everyone the time." Ghost suddenly announced, appearing on top of Namine's head. The sudden appearance made Namine blink in surprise. "Currently, it's afternoon, and in a few hours, it will be evening. Also, it's random true fact time! Did you know that nearly 80% of the Hell pantheon's population fears Bayonetta due to her method of dominating others? Many call her the Mistress of Kinks because of this."
Namine looked up at Ghost with a mix of curiosity while Bayonetta's lips curled into a sly smile, clearly pleased with the recognition.
Ruby pulled her red cloak tighter around herself, her eyes darting between Bayonetta and Ghost.
Weiss sighed as if she already knew something like this would be expected.
"Play your cards right, and I bet you'll have a fun time." Bayonetta said with a playful wink in my direction. As she leaned slightly closer, her voice dropped to a sultry tone. "I don't mind giving you a trial run."
Crazy voices; I might be messed up in the head for having sex multiple times with Nyarla and the others, especially knowing full well what kind of entities they are. But I don't think I want to experience the kind of kinks Bayonetta has in mind. I know damn well that the moment she does something to me in her twisted pleasure, I won't be able to escape or return to who I was before.
"No thanks." I said calmly. "I have Ruby and Weiss here... Please don't touch them in any sexual ways." I know Bayonetta might not do anything to them, but it's better to say it now than later when it could happen for whatever reason.
"Aw, you're no fun." Bayonetta pouted, her lips forming a dramatic, exaggerated frown. Then, a smirk slowly spread across her face. "Fine. We can just have normal, ordinary, non-kinky sex."
She leaned back, stretching luxuriously on the bed, her long hair cascading over the pillows. The playful glint in her eyes suggested she was enjoying this teasing game.
Ruby and Weiss exchanged a look, their faces a mix of relief and awkwardness. The atmosphere in the room lightened a bit, the tension easing as Bayonetta's playful behavior took over. Despite her teasing, there was a sense of certainty in her words, a promise to respect the boundaries I had set.
"Does that mean I can join in to have sex as well?" Namine asked everyone, her voice innocent and curious. My right eyebrow twitched at her unexpected question.
Namine sat up on her bed, her wide eyes gleaming with a mix of naivety and eagerness. The room fell into a brief, stunned silence as everyone processed her words.
Bayonetta's smirk widened, clearly amused by the sudden turn of events.
Ruby looked at Namine's body figure, then at herself and Weiss, and finally at Bayonetta. Her eyes traveled thoughtfully, comparing Namine's petite frame with her own athletic build and Weiss' elegance yet buxom figure. Finally, her gaze rested on Bayonetta's curvaceous and commanding presence.
Man, crazy voices. Ruby's thoughts are something.
"I don't think... Jin would agree to that, Namine. I'm not saying you're not beautiful and desirable. But Jin has a certain taste in women." Ruby said, scratching the top of her head in frustration as she tried to come up with a better way to word it.
Namine's expression shifted slightly, her curiosity giving way to a hint of disappointment. She glanced down, fidgeting with the edge of her bedspread.
Ruby, noticing this, sighed and gave her a reassuring smile. "It's just that Jin's preferences are a bit... specific."
Weiss stepped in, nodding in agreement with Ruby. "It's nothing personal, Namine. Everyone has their own tastes, after all."
Bayonetta watched the interaction with a bemused smile, her eyes flickering between the girls. She seemed to relish the awkwardness and the effort Ruby was putting into being tactful. Ghost floated down a bit, settling on Namine's shoulder and giving her a comforting nudge, adding a light, almost comical touch to the tense atmosphere.
"If it makes you feel better, Lady Namine, Jin is not the best person to be your first partner, nor should he be your lover in any way." Ghost explained.
Almost everyone in the room couldn't help but snort upon hearing this. Ruby covered her mouth to stifle a laugh, while Weiss let out a small, amused chuckle. Even Bayonetta's smirk widened into a genuine grin, clearly entertained by Ghost's blunt honesty.
"I feel attacked... If it wasn't so true." I shrug my shoulders. Not denying Ghost's comments.
Namine blinked in surprise, her earlier disappointment melting away into a soft giggle. "Thank you for being honest, Ghost."
Ghost floated a bit higher, seemingly pleased with itself, as Namine patted it gently on the head. The atmosphere in the room shifted from awkward tension to a more relaxed and jovial mood.
"So, how should we prepare for the incoming assassins sent by the high school tonight?" Weiss asked as she grabbed a hairbrush nearby and began brushing her long, white hair.
The rhythmic sound of the brush gliding through her hair provided a calming backdrop to the conversation. Ruby, still wrapped in her red cloak, looked thoughtful as she considered the question. Bayonetta leaned back on the bed, one hand propped under her head.
"I don't know about everyone else, but I'll be sleeping unless Jin over there decides to have sex to pass the time." Bayonetta said, a playful smirk on her lips as she brought the blanket over herself. She casually tossed her glasses to the side, their delicate frames landing softly on the nightstand.
Ruby looks in my direction, eager for sex.
Weiss rolled her eyes, muttering something under her breath as she continued brushing her hair.
Namine blinked, her earlier curiosity returning as she glanced between Bayonetta and Jin.
Bayonetta settled into the bed, her long, dark hair spilling over the pillows. She stretched lazily under the covers.
Ghost suddenly turned invisible, no longer hovering near Namine. However, just a few seconds later, Ghost reappeared in the middle of the room, a dramatic flair in its movements. It floated higher, and with a sudden burst of energy, it fired a laser beam from its eye, projecting a holographic screen for everyone to see.
The holographic screen flickered to life, casting an ghostly glow lighting the room. The image on the screen showed messages.
"Ruby Rose of the Eldritch pantheon, you're being challenged by Speed-o'-Sound Sonic of the Ninja pantheon." Ghost announced, its voice echoing with an air of formality.
"Well, that is unexpected." I thought out loud.
"Ruby Rose of the Eldritch pantheon, you have 10 minutes to accept or reject the challenge." Ghost continued, its voice echoing through the room with an undeniable sense of urgency. "Accepting it would teleport you to the arena to face Speed-o'-Sound Sonic of the Ninja pantheon. Rejecting it would lead you to automatically lose something as part of the challenge for a bet among students."
Ruby's eyes widened in surprise, and she instinctively straightened up, her red cloak billowing around her as she rose to her feet.
The room's atmosphere shifted instantly. The earlier focus on defending against assassins was now overshadowed by this unexpected challenge.
Weiss paused mid-brush, her eyes flickering with concern as she looked at Ruby, then at Bayonetta. "Is this allowed?"
Bayonetta's smirk returned, clearly intrigued by the upcoming clash. "This should be interesting, and yes, this is allowed. Did no one tell you about this? All students are allowed to challenge among themselves for whatever reason."
Namine watched with a blank look.
"No. No one told us anything about this challenging each other among students." I paused, then felt a bead of sweat trickle down my temple as realization hit me. I glanced at Bayonetta and saw the mischievous glint in her eyes, recognizing she was messing with us. "I guess that's why you're the one telling us, as that is part of your duty, is it not?"
Bayonetta's smirk widened, and she shrugged nonchalantly, clearly enjoying the moment. "You caught me." She admitted with a playful wink. "But a little excitement never hurt anyone, right?"
"As the one being challenged, Ruby, you have the advantage of picking how the fight goes and what the bet will be." Namine explained, stepping forward to ensure Ruby received the necessary information before Bayonetta could tease everyone further.
Ruby looked at Namine, her eyes filled with a mixture of relief and newfound determination. She glanced around the room.
Weiss nodded encouragingly while Bayonetta simply smirked, her teasing temporarily set aside in favor of genuine interest.
Then, Ruby's eyes land on me as she hops off the bed and lands in front of me she hugs my right arm and look at me in the eyes, grinning.
"What are you thinking, Ruby?" Weiss asked, rolling her eyes upon seeing Ruby's action.
Ruby took a deep breath, equipping the Suzumebachi after letting go of my arm. "If I'm going to do this, I want it to be on my terms. The fight should test both our skills, not just speed. It should be a mix of combat and strategy."
Namine nodded, her expression thoughtful. "And the bet?"
Ruby paused, then looked at me again, "What should I bet on, Jin? I honestly don't have anything I want to bet on right now, and rejecting the challenge would make us lose something important."
"Bet on your Sniper Badge. You would obtain this Speed-o'-Sound Sonic's badge upon winning." I rub Ruby's head, smiling at her.
"Then, I'll do exactly that." Ruby said firmly as she looked over at Ghost. She held the hand I was using to rub her on the head, wanting more petting.
Ghost hovered closer, the holographic screen displaying the new terms of the challenge. "Very well. These terms are now set. You have five minutes remaining to confirm your decision."
"Sebd ne at the last second." Ruby said to Ghost.
"Why the last second?" Namine asks out of curiosity.
"I need Jin to pet my head more. Boost my confidence." Ruby said in a serious tone.
"Honestly, Ruby." Weiss let out an annoyed sigh.
Bayonetta snorts, "At least she got her priority straight."
Well, crazy voices. Other than sex, I guess Ruby likes having her head pat.
