Capítulo 45: Out of line

"Hah. What a surprise. I wonder what reason might you have for you to come to my house, Holly?"

Holly was panting as she lifted her gaze to the pair of ridiculing eyes before her. She kept her lips tight shut, but her shaking eyes scanned him.

"Hmm?" Ike arched a brow, lifting his arm to prop to the side of the open gate. "Why are you looking at me as if you're expecting something?"

Holly swallowed down the tension in her throat before lifting her chin. She recomposed herself, sporting a natural fierce look to keep the little pride she had left after coming here.

"I came to check on you, but it seemed you are alright." She cleared her throat. "That's all."

Without wasting a second, Holly turned her back on him to leave. However, just as she took a step, a hand grabbed her elbow and turned her around.

"You came to check on me?" Ike inquired, tilting his head to the side. "That's interesting. What made you think I'm not alright?"
