The wait for noon was pure agony for everyone involved.

Markus was sweating and fidgeting, knowing full well the outcome. At this stage, he had no choice but to face the music. He had to play his cards right.

"The chances of them being fated mates is close to impossible!" Carmen pouted as she folded her arms.

The Supreme Alpha's daughter made a fair point. It was extremely rare for second-chance fated mates. In the history of werewolves, there had been less than ten recorded instances.

Markus knew the consequences when he wanted to reject Safira back then. He wanted to take a chosen mate, one who could aid him in his quest for power. Someone just like Carmen. But the Supreme Alpha's daughter hardly ever had eyes for him.

He could tell just how much Carmen disliked Safira's presence. Because of the she-wolf, Carmen could not sink her claws into Damien. Both of them had a common goal.

"We can prove it to everyone with the Heart Moonstone," Markus declared.
