" What was that move? "
" How did he beat that dude through strength? "
" Are you guys sure he's a wanderer? "
Many questions suddenly fill the surroundings as my attention count continues to rise. Well, former martial arts did get buried to the ground as most of its records were left behind during the first invasion on Terran.
Furthermore, those who knew the technique came to realize how useless it was in front of monsters with odd and massive physical statures. Their abilities were more reliable than the techniques made for normal men.
This was one of the main reasons why these martial arts techniques soon developed to become ancient ones as the people focus more on the techniques of the strong supernatural Guardians.
Anyways, I didn't want to spend any time longer there so I left the instant I could. I did just do some stuff that defies all the research they did, so I felt like that was the best move. I wasn't really into becoming a test subject for the rest of my life.
Class 1B...
" Look it's him... He was the one who destroyed the Dow brothers earlier. "
" Wait he's the wanderer? "
" Didn't he kill the Grand lizard too? "
" Yeah... "
" Then he should be a part of the pillars! "
Attention + 12
Attention + 23
The Sixth Pillar... the new nickname I got after that scuffle from earlier. The un-common guardian, as I was common but I had the abilities of an uncommon or something like that. It's a little cheesy but I don't really hate it, not because I don't mind the name, but mainly because of this...
Attention + 4
I'm getting a lot of attention all around the world because I killed a Grand Inter. And I'm receiving more after the rumor of my having abilities escaped to the public.
I mean this is the main reason why I decided to stop the lay-low idea I had in the first place. I mean my emotion was the one that convinced me to do it, but getting stronger attention was the main reason why I was thinking about it in the first place.
Laying low was my plan to be safe as I grow stronger, but I grow stronger by not laying low so...
It's just the only way to approach this system if I want to be efficient in growing stronger and reaching the level of the main characters.
Speaking of main characters. A particular girl with long soft light blue hair was crouching down picking up some stuff on the floor. It seems like she hit the wall due to where she was crouching and also the location of the mess on the floor.
" Look it's her... Tsk. " The sound of spite.
Something that's directed at her almost every time she's in this particular hallway. Well, despite being the main heroine and also having an absurd ability, someone who is born of common blood isn't really accepted by people in this part of the school... Or the hallway where the top sections are located.
I mean there are some nice people here and there who look at her in worry, but those people are scared of being seen as someone who is questioning and fighting the presence of those stronger than their family, so they could only look in pity.
Anyways, this was also in the story, where Sol would approach her and help her out causing them to be friends and help each other out during the first year of classes.
" Look at her acting all cute, when she probably ate rats for lunch. " They laugh softly, trying to pretend like they're whispering but everyone could hear their voice.
Hmm... Seeing the scenario in the story in person felt quite weird. It's like I'm some sort of fortune teller guessing the path of what would happen next.
Though I do feel angry for some reason... Tsk... I've been reading Earthly Guardian too much it seems.
" She should've sold herself. So that her family could actually eat our appetiz- "
" You need help? " I ask Winter cutting off the people insulting her. Winter who was hurryingly grabbing her stuff raised her head. She was on the brink of crying, probably not because she just hit the wall, as she is naturally clumsy, but probably because of the loud beratement she could hear from the others.
She was probably hoping for a nice academy life, to raise her family out of poverty but she soon come to realize the true face of this school.
" Uhm... thank y- "
" Look at the wanderer, exploiting the situation to get a cute young girl for himself. "
...
Laughter escapes the group of people who berated Winter in the first place.
" Isn't it quite fitting? The two- "
" You jealous? " I say with a smile.
" Wha- Did you hear this man? HAHAHAHA. "
" I mean she's the only one who looks human here, so can't a fellow human help another human? "
They look at me with a dumbfounded faces. Like they didn't expect someone, more so a wanderer and commoner, to speak to their face like that. Even small corporates and guild leaders suck up to them to get their recognition, but here is a Wanderer who probably got inside through nepotism speaking to them like they were useless.
" After all pigs can be loud in the side, but they're still just pigs. "
" You fucker... " Their expressions turned grim as they look at me in rage.
" Ah. He didn't mean that we're sorry. " Winter who was crouching down almost tearing up from their disdain, suddenly stood up and tried to approach them with a worried look.
Though I didn't let it happen as I grabbed her hands away from them. I watched too much film to know that a slap was the reward you would get from that apology.
" Besides, I should maybe tell the staff that someone was trying to use their position to threaten a student of Sense. I'm sure they'd be interested in the person who dared to show their authority inside their academy. " A rule in the guidebooks of Sense. All students are equal regardless of gender, class, and race. It said there. But despite this rule, a clear gap in the social class of the students was still present at hand. This was just because the commoners just weren't comfortable with the students of high status. More so these are freshmen who don't really understand that rule, so I'm just teaching them... surely.
" This... " They grew speechless from my words. As they start to grow conflicted as they hear my words. I mean regardless of their status, Sense was still a different kind of opportunity. I mean even the child of the best guild the Airy twins was studying at Sense.
" I'll remember this... " They could only whisper as they walk away from us.
" Oh, what was that? Should I "
" Nothing! You f- Uhh " They rushed away in panic.
Well, Isn't this great? That felt oddly satisfying.
" Uhm... " The ever-meek Winter suddenly talks.
" Yeah? "
" Your hand... "
" Oh, Sorry. " I say with a calm smile.
" Thank you for... that," She says with a deep bow as she hands me what seems to be a piece of candy.
" Oh uh, thanks. 1A is right there next to 1B by the way. " I say knowing full well how horrid she is when it comes to directions.
She bows again to thank me, finally running away to 1A.
Tsk. I'm getting ahead of myself. Let's focus on growing stronger first before making more enemies. I can't be a dog who just barks.
But anyways... before anything. It's time to leave my mark on Sense. One of the small goals I have as of now is to obviously receive the attention of every student in Sense. Sounds easy enough I know, but Sense is equivalent to a small city. There are about ten thousand students here, all coming from different sectors. And it's absurd how much it has.
Though I couldn't really do that for now, so it's time to focus on a relatively smaller group of people. Class 1B
