Princess Esmeralda looked at her side and then gulped when her gaze caught the crown prince of Doughlake. How she wished she could disappear instantly, right now.

The both of them remained mute as they walked past different open rooms in the pavilion. When they got to a room where the appearance was enough intriguing, he stopped walking and she did the same.

Fed up with the silence between them, Esmeralda decided to break it. She looked straight into the eyes of the prince and then uttered, "What is your reason, Your Highness? For proposing a marriage even before you knew me?"

Prince Elliott clicked his tongue before saying, "Did you think whatever I uttered there in the breakfast gathering is nothing but the truth?"

Esmeralda blinked, becoming more confused, however, her blink was more than she intended when she felt a huge pang of pain comb her intestine altogether. "What do you mean?" Her words came out, barely a whisper.
