Noel stared at his reflection as he wondered for the nth time whether the path he had ultimately chosen was the correct one or not. While Mr A believed that he had always been after revenge, the truth was vastly different. 

When he had first approached AJ, he had indeed done so with the intention of revenge. He had planned to destroy AJ in order to hurt Prince Nicholas, firmly believing that the man would be hurt when he watched his son suffer. But then, being on AJ's side had shown him a very different truth. 

Nicholas Agilofings cared for no one but himself. In fact, for a little time, as he had watched Nicholas create problems for AJ, he had even considered himself lucky that the deplorable man had chosen to ignore him instead of acknowledge him. He'd lived in poverty but at least known parental love.
