Karina shot for the umpteenth time, but she still didn't hit bull's-eye. Her aim was good enough for Veron, but he could see that she was not satisfied.

She picked up really fast on everything he taught her, which surprised him and gave him a sense of pride at the same time. For someone who had never handled a gun, she beat his expectations.

Another shot and she dropped the gun, her shoulders slumping. Her brows furrowed and her eyes narrowed behind the large square glasses she wore.

"I'm not getting this." She complained, dragging the ear muffs covering her ears down a little bit.

"You are doing well for someone who just started two days ago." Veron encouraged her, but that didn't cheer her up.
