Capítulo 140: The Increasing Obsession

Oliver looked conflicted upon hearing his mother's words.

As if he didn't know if he should listen to her or not. In the end, when Gianna asked him whether he didn't believe her, he had to say that he believed his mother unwilling to hurt her sentiments.

Hence, Gianna took her son out of the room.

When they stepped out of the room, they didn't see Arthur who had been standing there for some time before. It was only after they had left that Arthur entered the room.

In his hands, he had a handkerchief and a bowl of cold water. With these things, he sat down on Evelyn's bed and put the cold water-soaked cloth on her forehead.

As he did this, he couldn't help but stare at her pale face.

A smile graced his lips as he caressed her lips and whispered

"My Evelyn is very timid. Did this scare you so much that you are having a fever? I will have to be careful in the future then."

Though his care was heart-touching, the words and emotions in his eyes were nothing but scary.
