"Pardon my interruption, but if I may ask, what is going on?" Alicia questioned, her eyes shifting between the excited Princess.

Adrasteia shot Alicia a grateful smile, her voice lowered to a conspiratorial tone. "Alicia, my dear, you've unwittingly become my savior today," she murmured, as if sharing a secret only meant for the two of them.

"I-" 

"Shhh!" Alicia began to ask but was promptly shushed by Adrasteia. "There she comes," Adrasteia whispered and Alicia's eyes narrowed in anticipation as she followed the Princess's gaze.

Maria, the handmaiden, returned to the room, holding a beautiful gown in her hands.

The fabric seemed to shimmer with an ethereal glow, catching Alicia's attention and widening her eyes in surprise.

Is she going to change her clothes into this? Alicia wondered silently.
