Eli worked professionally when facing his patients, but without them, he would be grumpy and refuse to chat with anyone unless they needed help with their work. He wanted to send Belle messages so many times, but whenever he remembered Allen, he got so annoyed he erased the messages he composed. 

In the end, from morning until afternoon, he was not able to send her a single text.
