Capítulo 239: She Has Eyes Like His Mate

The three humans became silent and their gazes were trained to the wall.  The three were still wearing their goggles so they could see in the dark.

Even the horses were silent and they stood still. 

Amaya looked at the horses with doubt. 'Are they scared? But why are they silent and not neighing?' Amaya's understanding of animal behavior has been challenged since she came to this mountain.

Marx took out the dried food from his backpack. Amaya and Vasquez also took out theirs and started eating silently.  There was only a single battery-operated torch in the middle of the three of them.

The howls continued followed by roars and shrieks. Just how many animals were killed? Amaya could roughly guess that there were five prey that fell victim to their predators.

"Some beasts are having their feast outside," Amaya said expressionlessly.  She took off her goggles and mask before eating so she could smell the stench of blood.
