Capítulo 2: Nicest and Bestest

It didn't take a long time before Evie opened her eyes.

"45 minutes gone. A good time spent in a good way, away from unnecessary trouble." Evie made her way to her brother's room and saw him playing video games on his phone.

"What's up" She leaned leisurely on his shoulder. Her brother, Dave had light brown hair just like her dad. Their resemblance was striking. Same color of hair, eyes, skin and even closely the same size, with her dad slightly bigger.

Dave was sitting on the edge of his bed and almost not noticing the person who walked into the room, not until she spoke.

"Nothing, sis. There's nothing fun to do. Since we won't be spending our day in this house tomorrow, everything's cleared up except for the things we're leaving behind. All I can do now is play games on my phone."

"I know right... no movies, no night strolls, no party. Must be pretty hard on you. I really do feel bad for you, you know." She said playing with his hair.

"Hmmm... indeed. You don't sound like you feel bad. You never feel bad for anyone." He said still paying his attention to the game.

"Ouch... that hurt a lot. But you've gotta admit it, I'm nice to you." she said not caring whether he admitted or not.

"Only to dad and I, yes. But you act like every other person is your long time enemy."

"You know we argue this same thing over and over again every fucking day, let's just draw the conclusion that I just don't like people. I really want a pet dog but mom's afraid I'll stab it to death or poison it. She exaggerates at times." Rolling her eyes, she lay on her back on the bed facing the ceiling. At that time, Dave was already done with the game level and ready to focus on their conversation.

"She was only stating what you did to the neighbour's chicken and the guinea pig in your class." He faced her with his arms crossed in front of his chest.

"The chicken tried to attack me when I MISTAKENLY stepped on it's careless baby. Good thing I was with a pen knife. For the guinea pig, I was only in 8th grade and I didn't know I was feeding it with acid instead of water. They look the same, you know. it's the teacher's fault for not placing things in the right place."

Lying beside her, he said "You always find a way to be right in all your wrongs."

"In my defense, I do it to avoid getting blamed for what I'm not at fault for."

"Whatever you say ma'am."

"Yes, whatever I say."

"Come on, let's go ask mom for dinner." he said rising up from the bed.

"You are very funny. The loaf of bread we ate this afternoon got me all the blame. You ate most of it and I got all the yelling. I think we are going on an empty stomach tonight."

"Oh, no. I'll die if I don't eat anytime soon." he said in exaggerated distress "what do we do?"

"You tell me." she said picking out the gum she had in her mouth from before she slept and threw it to the ceiling.

"Hey, you can't just go throwing stuff at my ceiling."

"It's not your ceiling cause we'll be moving out soon. It's going to be someone else's ceiling soon sweet boy."

Although, Dave was 2 years older than Evie, she still took him as a twin. However, Dave treated her like he was 10 years older and responsible for her wellbeing.

A knock on the door drew their attention.

"Downstairs. Now. Time for dinner." It was their mother

"Oh, isn't she the nicest and bestest of all mothers in the whole wild world." Dave said wiping fake tears from his eyes.

"All this, cause of food." she said rolling her eyes and hoping off the bed.

Capítulo 3: Nature

*10 minutes ago. In the kitchen*

"Felix, we really need to get her to a therapist. I'm for real this time, jokes apart. She acts like a savage. Her boyish character is not so bad. Infact I don't have a problem with it. She's rebellious and cares very little about any and everything. I'm starting to feel like this is mental, Felix. This is not how things are meant to be. She said getting bread in and out of the old toaster.

Most of the things that weren't to be left in the house (people were going to buy the house at anytime) nor to be taken with them were given out. The old toaster was that one thing Annah didn't know what to do with it. The bread she had bought earlier was to be eaten as sandwich but the kids already ate it like that. She had to get a new loaf to serve the family for dinner. She had initially decided to leave them hungry as a punishment but she changed her mind immediately after. Annah was a very woman but one thing she always had on her mind was her daughter's character. Unlike other rebellious kids she knows or hears of, Evie didn't go around causing trouble, which was just a little bonus that still held her hope.

If not disturbed or bothered, she was like a good pet who just sat at the corner of the house doing it's thing. However, saying or doing something to her that is displeasing could cost the person his or her wellbeing. She's engaged in endless fights. Heavens know how she rarely got suspended. About 5 years in the school with up to eighty two fights and only two suspension cases. And she was pretty good academically which was not too surprising (focusing in class with everyone of the teacher's words on her head and not having to read). Suspension cases were rare because she always turned out right calling it ' self defense'. Everyone knows she doesn't make trouble and whosoever got beaten got a good amount of his own trouble. However, those two cases were as crazy as beaten a classmate unconscious with blood from his mouth. Rumor (or gist) had it that she only hit girls with a few punches but boys got the main beating.

All these information didn't just pass by. Annah took note of them and tried as much as she could to tame the girl but there was just no suitable leash. Her association with people was like that of a serial killer with bloodlust and didn't want people around and trying to shoo or get rid of them with words. Those adjectives- rude, rebellious, cold, boyish, stubborn, carefree, easily irritated, savage and many more....

It got to a point, Annah started terming it as a mental and emotional state that needed to be attended to before getting worse till it gets to it's peak.

She spoke to her husband about it multiple times, raising more or different points everytime.

However, Felix had his reasons for not terming it as mental or emotional problem. He called it "nature."

"Nature, you say? Did you see how she reacted this afternoon after asking her about the bread? You keep mentioning nature all the time but this nature is already getting not natural. I've made my point now so I'm going to go call the kids down for dinner. I expect you to say something to her about it. Okay?" She said placing the wraps of sandwich on the dinning table.

Realizing Evie was no longer in her room, but Dave's, she knocked on the door and called them down for dinner.

This is as far as I can go for today. It's already late. I do hope you guys can drop comments on your opinions. I plan to make this book an enjoyable one so pls read and enjoy.
