Battle of good fortune

As all of us stood on the field, James was pondering on who would train us. Looking at Harriet I could see she was underestimating us, but I didn't want to be arrogant myself.

So I kept silent and continued to look at the other four. As I glanced at Elm I assumed she was somewhat of a tank, since she was more muscular.

But I threw that idea out the window when I saw that she didn't wear any armor, so I then thought she was more of a damage dealer.

While Vine himself was more of a support, since he was more thinner than Elm. With how thin he is, I also thought he could be flexible.

As for Harriet, she could be the same as Elm, since the backpack looked like it could store some things.

Winter and clover were hard to figure out, Winter had a slim frame and had a sword, she could be a damage dealer, but with how flexible she is, I was leaning more towards a support.

Clover himself was the one person I couldn't figure out what his battle style is. Since he only used a fish in rod.

"Clover, you'll be teaching Aiko, while Vine will teach Blake." The two named solders nodded their heads.

"Sir, is it alright if I can have a small spar with Aiko? I want to see how experienced he is." James nodded at his request and signaled for the rest to leave.

"So, I'm not going to attack you, but only defend and subdue, is that alright with you?" I nodded my head and soon saw the seven that left us at the observation chamber.

"Alright, let the simulation begin." The floor soon began to change, creating walls in front of us, while the side walls moved around, creating platforms for us.

While the arena was being prepped, I saw clover took out his fishing rod. The pole itself extended and he rubbed the four lean clover on his chest.

'I was right, his semblance is related to luck.' I thought and shook my hand, causing my weapon to slither out of my sleeve.

Seeing my weapon, Clober was curious on what it could do, but didn't ask since we were about to start.

The air was tense as the two of us stared at one another, waiting for a signal to start. A buzz was then heard, and I instantly threw one end of my weapon.

It latched onto one of the platforms and I tugged hard, pulling myself up and making sure I was out of his line of sight.

THIRD POV

As the seven spectators saw Aiko making the first move, Blake widened her eyes and smiled.

"Sienna, Aikos going to do that!" She said while gripping Siennas arm and jumping up and down.

"What do you mean by that?" James asked her, Blake hid behind Sienna and poked her head out, but didn't answer loud enough.

"Speak up when the general is talking to you!" Blake yelped and hid behind Sienna again, shaking in fear.

"Harriet, stand down." Harriet clicked her tongue and focused back on the batle.

"A-Aiko p-prefers to strike the opponents blind spots, a-and he sometimes he likes to d-distract his opponents." Hearing what Blake said, the general hummed at the tactic.

"It's not bad, but when it's only two people facing one another, he would have to figure out how to move quickly." They all observed me bidding my time to strike.

Clover would toss the hook and pull himself, trying to strike me. But every time he thought he found Aiko, there was no one there.

"Kid, you know this won't help you win!" Clover shouted, he then heard some giggling behind one of the floating walls, so he launched his hook on top of it, but swung down.

Once he swung underneath it and tried ti strike, he saw nothing there. Before he could do anything though, he was kicked from above.

He tried to see where Aiko went, but all he saw was the robe that he wore fluttering above the wall.

He swung back underneath the the wall to cut him off, but he was gone once again. He looked around and tried swinging passed walls, but he couldn't find anything.

"Well I'll be dammed, he's smart." Muttered Clover, before he could continue, another kick struck him.

This time however it was on his back, he was sent flying towards the wall, but before he could slam against the wall, a glitch occurred.

Causing the wall to lay flat, Clover was able to roll on the platform and he turned back to see Aiko standing on top of the wall.

'If it weren't for my semblance, I would have taken some damage.' He thought and ran towards the edge.

Aiko wanted to jump down, but luck wasn't on his side. The wall moved forward, causing the boy to lose his balance.

This gave Clover the opurtunitu to wrap him with the fishing line, he then pulled with all of his might, pulling Aiko close to him.

'Oh, this is going to hurt.' Thought Aiko, and hurt it did. As soon as Clover kicked him, Aiko was sent down to the floor.

As Aiko was about to reach the floor, he wriggled himself free from the fishing line and realigned himself to roll on the floor.

Clover soon followed and the two stood in front of each other, both stood still and didn't bother moving.

"Kid, I'll admit, your skills to hide yourself is good. But what about facing your opponent?" Before Aiko could respond, Clover whipped his arm back.

As he threw it forward, the fishing hook was thrown towards Aiko, who also did the same thing with his own weapon.

The two ends struck one another, causing the two to bounce off. Seeing this happen, the two of them decided to rush towards one another, facing each other in hand to hand combat.

Clover was the first to strike, he tried to use his fishing rod on Aiko. But Aiko slid underneath him and tried to slam his fist on his leg.

Somehow, a part of the floor lifted itself, blocking the strike. Seeing how an unexpected moment happened, Aiko jumped away.

'That's the second time, there's no coincadince.' He thought and began to experiment with Clovers semblance.

Aiko first rushed towards him and tried to strike home from above, but nothing happened.

Clover blocked his leg with ease and counterd with a strike of his own. But before he could make contact, Aiko caught his fist.

That's when Aiko's semblance activated, and a small stream of information rushed to his head.

'So, his semblance is good fortune, letting positive probability's lean to his favor.' Aiko thought and began to rush at Clover.

'How long will it last?' Aiko began to rush at him, throwing multiple kicks and punches. But not a single one made any contact with Clover.

'Guess I can use one tail. But I'll have to make sure I don't expose myself.' Aiko placed an illusion over himself to hide his body, and began to rush at Clover again.

"You know it's not going to work like th-." Before he could finish, he was pulled forward by something, and landed on his back.

"Wow, must be my lucky day." Aiko said with a smile and tried to attack him. Only this time, the floor underneath Clover pushed him up, and letting him fly into the air.

"If you want to talk about luck, then it's the opposite for you." Clover said, he jumped down and began to rush at Aiko once again.

Only this time he ran with only his hands, but before he could do anything, Aiko raised his hand to stop him.

Seeing this, Clover skidded to a stop and stood in front of me with a confused look. Aiko then pulled out something that no one expected.

"How about we test whose luck is stronger?" He said and pulled out a familiar revolver to the ace-ops and to James.

"S-sir, that's one of your weapons!" Harriet shouted, she wanted to run to the field, but the door was firmed shut.

"Solder Clover, don't do anything rash and try to take the gun away." James said through the speaker, but Clover didn't hear anything and continued to stare at Aiko.

"Kid, I don't know how you grabbed one of the generals weapons, but that's not a toy." He said while slowly approaching me.

"I know, I've seen many weapons like this, but relax, it's a simple game." Aiko said while slowly rotating the chamber.

"Besides, did you notice how you were tripping and seeing me dissapear?" This caught Clovers attnwtin, since he did trip, but saw that Aiko was no where near him.

"Fine then, how does it work?" Clover asked while raising his guard, Aiko smiled and flipped a switch on the revolver.

Moving the chamber to the side, he then pressed the release button on it. Letting five out of the six bullets fall.

"The game is simple, one bullet, six spots. The two of us can decide to either pull the trigger once, or twice." Aiko said and spun the chamber.

After a few seconds, he flicked his wrist. Once the chamber was placed, he raised the gun to his head.

"Stop-!" The sound of the hammer hitting the chamber was heard, but nothing happened. Clover stood their speechless at what happened, but then released a breath he didn't know he was holding.

"Well, that's one down, only five left." Aiko then passed the revolver to Clover, who was trembling when he reached for the gun.

"Kid, are you all right?" Aiko tilted his head and smiled.

"Of course, I've already seen what my people go through outside of Atlas, I'm already used to seeing our people suffering." Hearing this, Clover shivered at his words.

'How is he still smiling after seeing his people suffering?' He thought and raised the gun to his head.

He then pulled the trigger, and another click was heard, the chamber turned once again. Aiko was clapping his hands and had stars in his eyes.

"Wow, so you survived as well, four more to go." Aiko swiped the gun and raised it again. He pulled the trigger twice and two clicks were heard, no shots were fired.

"Welp, that means there's only two shots left, so here." Clover was hesitant once again, but he grabbed it.

As he stared at the gun, his breathing became heavy, and his arm felt heavy. Yet he forced himself, raising the gun at his head.

With the spectators, James and the ace-ops were trying to break the door down. They attacked it, sliced it, slammed it, but nothing budged.

The girls on the other hand were relaxed and playing cards. They weren't disturbed at all, only Blake had two earmuffs.

"Why are you two relaxed?! Don't you see the boy is risking his life!?" Sienna just huffed and glanced at him.

"He's fine, this is a habit he does to the people who think they are above anyone and tend to take a large risk, or to bring them to reality." Sienna grimaced at the memory he has done.

"So, he does this?! Risking his own life to teach others a lesson?!" Shouted Harriet, Sienna nodded her head and glared t her.

"Trust me, you'll be grateful the day you will be in your partners place." Before Harriet could say anything a loud bang was heard.

The ace-ops and James rushed to the window, and saw Aiko standing with the gun in his hand, the barrel was smoking, but Aiko was upright.

But when they saw Aiko, their eyes widened. Aiko wasn't looking the same. His hair was white as snow, and his eyes were no longer amber, instead they were red, blood red.

Finally, they saw nine tails all flowing behind him, each slowly wagging. Aiko's mouth was grinning, far wider than a person should grin.

"Wow, my luck is so strong, not even death can take me.~" Seeing this, Clover knelt down, and tears fell from his eyes.

Aiko then continued to pull the trigger, one after another, more shoots resounded through the room. Each bullet landed on the floor flat, Aiko continued to grin as the final shot was heard and he made his way to Clover.

"B-but how!? I saw you take out five of the bullets! So how did you do this!?" Aiko just pulled out the chamber and soon, all six bullet shells fell onto the floor.

Once he arrived in front of him, he aimed the gun, his eyes were glowing red, and he began to giggle at his reaction.

"Because I alone am the deceiving one." Aiko pulled the trigger one last time, and a click was heard.

"Bang."

(A/N) Hey hey, here's this week's chapter, I was debating to hold that line later in the future, but I felt like this was a good spot.

Any ways if you enjoyed it, send some power stones to show some support, and comment a little, just to show that I'm not just writing this for nothing.
