It came as little surprise to anyone that deviljho had very little fat on its entire body and was easily built like a hippo. This also meant that the chef wasn't a very big fan of the meat that consisted of thick bands of muscles that were very chewy. Still he was a professional and knew how to cook the meat in such a way it gets very tender and flavorful. The final result was mixed with a thick barbeque sauce and put on a massive bun with onions and pickles creating a huge pulled deviljho sandwich.-
The runt got it's portion of course but noticing it's size Alex thought he may cut it off so that it needs to hunt for it's own food. The admiral kept the small wyvern active but Alex knew the thing was starting to lose it's actual fighting prowess from not having true battles to the death. Monsters needed conflict to grow stronger and the runt simply wasn't getting enough. Alex was not surprised to obtain the [Black blood] trait which was rare ranked from the meal but the second trait he got made him sigh , [Perpetual hunger].-
He of course immediately rejected that trait as it would only turn him into a raving lunatic like it does every deviljho eventually. The hunger grows more and more intense as time passes until eventually the species is driven mad by it and need to be put down urgently. Alex shuddered to think of what a monster like himself with the system would be like stuck in that maddened state. He was already quickly reaching the point of invincibility so if he just dropped everything in a search for food his growth would grow rampantly and imbalanced leading to a monster worse than any other.-
'Thankfully I can reject traits I don't want so that future won't ever happen.' Alex thought with a relieved sigh. He was a bit disappointed that he didn't get the trait for the dragon element but this wasn't the first time he didn't get an element from a elemental monster so he shrugged it off. For the next two weeks Alex focused on his water element and his locked thunder element. He wanted to bring them up to the same level roughly as his fire element but only the thunder element was showing any significant progress.-
Alex had brought the water element to the peak of high rank at tier 6 while the thunder element reach tier 5 under his dedicated efforts. His [mistosis] trait grew a bit and was on the verge of tier 6 itself but likely needed him to increase his water element to master rank to bring it all the way up. Still despite not having any good food to eat nergigante still hadn't revealed any signs of it's hiding place. This had Alex worried he might have upset the sequence of events a bit too much and was causing the future to deviate from it's original course.-
As if fate was messing with Alex news came in that very instant about nergigante's traces being found in a certain area of the elders recess. He couldn't help but have a small twitch in his eye from the sheer irritation that the situation caused him but controlled himself. Alex had noticed that the stronger he got the more he had trouble controlling his anger but had been maintaining his actions through a strong sense of self control. Unfortunately this also meant that he prey usually gets used as stress relief in stead , violently.-
Once Alex knew where nergigante was he snatched up Zain who was preparing and sped through the sky towards the area to put an end to the eater of elders. It was a short trip thanks to how much faster flying was compared to traveling on the ground. When Alex landed he told Zain his plan to take out nergigante without much issue. First he would sneak near the area the elder was supposed to be in before camouflaging himself as a piece of the ground. Then Zain would go in and draw nergigante out so that Alex could sucker punch the bastard and then gang up on it with Zain.
