Four days have passed since Miguel sent Gemma the divorce papers and still hasn't been able to sign them. She hasn't called Miguel to talk to him about the way that she feels about him and neither has he called her to find out why she was yet to sign the papers.

Just as Elena had told her, she would have to choose the lesser of the two evils. Either to be frustrated from being separated from Miguel or to be frustrated from remaining married to him and experiencing unrequited love for the rest of her life.

She was lying in bed facing the ceiling when her phone began to ring. She reached under the pillow for it and she hissed a breath when she saw her mother's name flash across the screen.

She didn't have the mental capacity to deal with her mother right now. She contemplated whether or not she should take the call. But knowing her mother she was sure that she would continue to call until she answers.
