Damon furrowed his brows as she spoke in a very evil tone, having never heard his sister speak in such a tone before.
"Ayana?" He stood up from his seat and proceeded to walk towards her, but a glare from Ayana had him halt his steps.
"Fool! You really think that this is your sister?" She asked, and confused by the question, Damon stared at her.
"Ayana, what are--" Suddenly struck by a heavy realization, Damon went quiet in shock, and his heart dropped to his stomach in fear.
"You released it..." He muttered and raised his head to look at Ayana who seemed to have been possessed by what she had released.
He shifted his gaze to the emperor, and seeing the anger rising in the emperor's eyes, he immediately knew Ayana was going to face a terrible fate.
"What is the meaning of this, Miss Ayana?" The emperor inquired, and a smirk gradually spread across Ayana's face.
"Seems like old age is catching up to you, Raman. I can't believe that you don't even remember your favorite prisoner. Hahaha!"
She laughed hysterically, and the emperor's eyes immediately widened in shock.
"You!" His eyes twitched furiously, and he intently gazed at Ayana, unable to believe that what was inside her was something he had locked away, never to be released.
"Remember me now?" She laughed loudly, and the emperor's hands gripped tightly onto the armrests of the chair.
Of course, he recalls the one and only Djinn ruler. Ruel Breterdan, a monster feared by all.
No human dared to lift their heads in front of him. He was a cold-hearted creature that kills without a second thought.
He had this sort of hatred for humans and never ceased hunting them.
That was when Raman decided to take action and took three years off his time to find Ruel's weakness, which was the Orean of Atamor.
It was a stone crystal that rendered Ruel powerless just by looking at it.
It was as if the stone drained his energy, leaving him with nothing.
This crystal is not just the djinn's weakness; it is also the smoke demon's weakness.
So just like Raman had managed to bring Ruel down, he had also brought Damian down the same way.
So basically, the weakness Damian was talking about was the Orean of Atamor.
The emperor's eyes fluttered vigorously, and he slowly began to panic, knowing that without the crystal, he was powerless before Ruel.
The crystal was hidden deep in his chamber, and no one except his personal bodyguard, Manov, knew where it was hidden.
Heavy breaths fled his mouth, and he turned his head to look at his brother Adolf, who already knew how this was going to end.
"How did you get out?" Adolf abruptly inquire and Ruel shifted his gaze to him.
"Isn't it obvious?" He arched his brow at Adolf, and Adolf vehemently narrowed his eyes at him.
"So… What do you plan to do now that you have managed to escape?" He pried further, secretly trying to buy some time for Manov so he could rush to the emperor's chamber and get the crystal.
"Kill all of you! I mean, what more could I desire if not revenge?" He laughed hysterically, not wanting to imagine just how dumb Adolf is, however, immediately noticing something off, his smile vanished in the blink of an eye and he quickly turned his head to see Manov sneaking out of the hall.
"How dare you?" He shouted and appeared before Manov in the blink of an eye.
He grabbed him by the throat and angrily flung him away, sending him crashing onto the wall.
The guests in the hall gasped in fear and clutched their hearts.
They clung to one another, afraid of who might be next.
A huge smile spread across Ruel's face, and he turned his head to look at Adolf.
"You really thought that you could trick me?" He asked in a mocking voice.
Adolf stared at him, unable to utter a word.
Manov was so close! He was so close!
His hands balled into tight fists, and he swallowed hard, not sure how they would survive Ruel.
Not failing to notice the fear in his eyes, a smile of satisfaction formed on Ruel's face.
He abruptly snapped his finger, and before everyone's eyes, what seemed like a transparent net covered the entire hall, meaning escape was now impossible.
"Father…." Daphne, whose heart was already thinking wildly within her, whispered, and the emperor slowly turned his head to look at her.
"It's okay…." The emperor assured her, and she nervously bit her lower lip.
The whimpers of fear coming from the guests flew in Ruel's ears and pleasured by this, his smile grew even wider.
He shifted his gaze to Daphne, and his eyes immediately narrowed.
He disappeared and appeared before her on the throne in the blink of an eye.
"Pretty…" He exclaimed as he gazed at her petite face.
Daphne breathed heavily, her body trembling in dread.
Yes, the person standing before her was Ayana, but the voice she was hearing was that of a man.
She knows very well that the soul within Ayana's body was not Ayana but something evil that her father had locked away.
"It seems I may spare someone tonight after all."
