Capítulo 39: His Demons, His Hell

Keisha and Shalini walked into Café Munch, sharing skeptical glances as they made their way to their usual secluded booth, where Steph waited nervously for them. Noticing the arrival of her friends, Steph stood up to greet.

"Hey, guys."

Her voice was thick with anxiety, and as the freshmen took their seats, they simply nodded in acknowledgement. Following suit, Steph awkwardly slumped into her seat, giving her friends an apologetic look.

"Before you guys say anything – I know, I fucked up. And no amount of begging or apologizing will change it, but for what it's worth, I'm really sorry."

Shalini huffed, crossing her arms. "Are you sorry for what you did or sorry that you got caught?"

"Both," Steph responded, batting her eyelids as she pouted, clasping her hands together. "Please forgive me."

Crossing her arms as well, Keisha narrowed her eyes at her former roommate. "You lied to us Steph, and you broke your promise! We're not forgiving you so easily."
