On the morning of the emperors' wedding, Varya woke up earlier than she wanted in an empty bed. 

Basileus told her he needed to check on one last thing before the wedding. He told her he had a surprise for her that night and she was giddy with excitement about what he had planned for her. 

She couldn't sleep as she thought of all the people who were on the planet for the wedding. 

Being particular about what her dream wedding would entail, Varya decided that she wanted the reception and ceremony to both be in the gardens.
