One day, Mylene realized that there was a big gap between her and her lover, Claire. A gap so big and obvious that she didn't know she was ignoring it, even though it's in front of her. 

Firstly, both of them are women. There was no way for them to conceive a child unless with the assistance of the Alpha Omega that both of them never had. 

Same-sex marriage is legal on the continent, but not many people could accept that concept morally. Some people even find the thought of those kinds of couples disgusting. 

Secondly, Claire is the child of a well-known and respected merchant. Mylene, on the other hand, was an orphan who had no last name or influence. 

Being the daughter of a powerful merchant, her father already had plans for Claire. That was to use her as a tool to gain more connections through marriage.
