Ginny hesitated before muttering a hasty excuse. "I… I can't. I have to pick up food for my pet duck." The words spilled out so quickly that Ginny herself seemed shocked by them. Her eyes widened, and she clamped her mouth shut as if she'd just revealed a classified secret.
Persephone blinked, fighting to suppress a grin. Pets weren't allowed in the dorms, but she decided to let it slide for now. That little nugget of information could definitely come in handy later. With a soft chuckle, she tilted her head and offered instead, "How about I come with you? Grocery shopping. I could use the company, and maybe I can help you pick out the right food."
