**[Third Person POV]**

It was a cold night in Starfall, the ancestral home of House Dayne; in a small servant's room, the cries of a woman in labor could be heard. She was giving birth and had been suffering since the onset of labor pains.

Since the seventh month of pregnancy, she had been experiencing prenatal pains, which had Grace worried because she didn't want anything bad to happen to her baby.

Grace called her friend Mary to help with the delivery. Mary had a daughter with Robert the blacksmith; her daughter's name was Lisa, and she was eight months old.

In the eighth month of pregnancy, the labor came early, and the baby was born premature. Strangely, the baby didn't cry even when Mary patted his little legs. Mary was surprised by this odd occurrence.

Holding her son in her arms, Grace, the servant of House Dayne, asked her friend to take care of her son. She was weak, and the bleeding wouldn't stop. She felt she was at death's door.

"Mary, please take care of my son and ask Lord Dayne to give him a name, as he is the father," Grace said, tears in her eyes because she wouldn't see her son grow up.

"Grace, you know how the lords are; he won't take responsibility for an illegitimate child. But don't worry, I'll take care of him, and I'll go to Lord Dayne to ask him to name the boy," Mary said, taking the child in her arms.

"Thank you, Mary," Grace said before losing consciousness.

With tears in her eyes, Mary bid farewell to her friend, who gave her last breath before leaving this world.

**[Host POV]**

When I opened my eyes, I felt like I was in an unfamiliar place. After my death, I felt like I was in a tunnel, struggling to breathe. Upon emerging from the tunnel, I couldn't see anything around me, only hearing a woman in pain and another consoling her.

Suddenly, a voice appeared in my mind, saying, <Welcome, Host, to the world of Game of Thrones>

I couldn't believe it. I found myself in the world of the book series that had fascinated me. But I had a question: why couldn't I see or move my body as I wanted? So I tried to communicate with the voice in my head.

'Hello, who are you, and what's happening to me? Why can't I see?' I asked in my mind.

<The Host has just been born, so you are in a weakened state. It is recommended that the Host rest to regain energy, as you will be in this state for about a month,> the System said in my mind.

'So, what or who are you?' I asked, still confused.

<I am the system that reincarnated with the Host. Since the Host is weakened, I will remain dormant for a year. It is recommended that the Host rest until then,> the System said in my mind.

'Wait, can you explain more... Hello... Umm... I'm sleepy,' I said before falling unconscious.

**[Mary POV]**

I watched the child sleep, who was weak after being born and hadn't cried since I held him to nurse.

"From now on, I will be your mother. I will take care of you and give you the love Grace couldn't," I said, kissing his forehead.

I headed home, after instructing a worker to cremate Grace's body and then build a tomb to bury her remains.

When I arrived home, I laid the child beside my daughter Lisa, who was sleeping soundly after waiting for me. I picked up Lisa and nursed her.

I will nurse the child and wait until he is three months old before going to Lord Dayne to ask him to name my son.

Three months later, I stood outside the castle of House Dayne, requesting a meeting with Lord Dayne.

"What do you want?" a guard asked me at the castle door.

"Guard, I request an audience with Lord Dayne," I said, holding the child in my arms.

"You think he will see you?" the guard said with a sneer.

"Tell our lord that I am here for him to see and name his son," I said, showing the three-month-old baby.

"Why would Lord Dayne do such a thing? You know that even if he is his son, he is a bastard," the guard said incredulously.

"I just want him to give the child a name. I will take care of him," I said, continuing, "Tell him it's Grace's only request."

"Wait, I will inform Lord Dayne," the guard said before entering the castle.

**[Third Person POV]**

Lord Dayne sat on his throne, listening to the guard relay Mary's message. Lord Dayne pondered what to do.

"Let her in," Lord Dayne said to the guard, having made up his mind.

"As you command," the guard replied, bowing before leaving his presence.

In the hall...

"My Lord," Mary said, kneeling on one knee.

"I will only name the child, and when he grows up, he will serve as a guard in my castle. You will take care of him, and I will give you four silver coins a month," Lord Dayne told Mary, taking a quill and writing an order.

"As you command, my lord. What name will you give this child, my lord?" Mary asked, showing him the baby's face.

"His name will be Lancel Sand. You may leave," Lord Dayne said, gesturing for her to leave his presence.

"Thank you, my lord," Mary said, standing and leaving with the child in her arms. As she left, she was captivated by the baby's smile.

"Son, now you have a nice name, Lancel," Mary said, kissing his forehead.

**[Lancel POV]**

At least my name isn't as bad as I feared. Now I want to find out what year I was born and whether the voice in my head was a hallucination or not.

I hope time passes quickly in these nine months remaining. The current problem is that I'm sharing a crib with a girl, and it's very uncomfortable due to the physiological needs of babies.

My biological mother passed away, but Mary said she would take care of me, and she has been doing so since I arrived at her house.

The climate in Starfall is warm, as it's surrounded by the sea. The air is a bit salty, but I'm getting used to the climate. It's because children adapt more quickly to a place where they grow up, unlike adults.

'It's so comfortable to be a child again. For now, I have to enjoy not worrying about anything,' I thought to myself.

"Lancel, from now on, I will be your mother. You will be the younger brother to my daughter Lisa," Mary said to me before I fell asleep deeply in her arms.
