Capítulo 20: Reviewing the harvests
When I woke up everyone was looking at me from all sides, their expressions were both surprised and relived at the same time. Even Weles seemed to be already awake and cleaned up too as only his clothes were stained with hard to get off blood.
Yuhe:"You woke up, thank god"
It seems sister Yuhe was healing me from behind, she definitely contributed a lot to my successful absorption of the soul ring
Yuhe:"What did you think you were doing worrying all of us like that, everyone here was kept on edge the entire time."
Cai:"Sorry sister, I just didn't think any of you would let me do that. So I decided to do it without much thinking."
Cai:"But it's all okay now, I should be able to easily absorb a soul ring with at least more than 10k years than the one I did before"
I wasn't lying, that really seemed to be the case. Not only did my physique get boosted thanks to the soul ring being at least 23k years old, I got even more boosted by my bloodlines, mostly my hero bloodline.
It was constantly compressing and devouring the energy from the soul ring, and was also refining my physique even further, so the effects of the soul rings improving physical capabilities were even greater for me. The Ice phoenix empress on the other hand mostly helped me increase my perception of elements, as well as its purity which means more resistance to cold, higher affinity to ice and yin element, and spiritual power.
My harvest really was great this time, I don't think that would happened if I devoured a soul ring suitable for my current limits, as there would be no soul power overflowing from me. I don't regret absorbing a soul ring now, and if everything goes according to plan I will have a way to deal with its low age later.
Weles:"Okay that's enough of this, we should head back now. Everyone is already extremely tired by now"
Now that I look around a bit more the sky is already red, and as Weles said everyone is already beat, we had 2 hard fights and me with Weles absorbed soul rings and it's late as well.
Cai:"I think we all can agree with that"
We started to head back on the boats, and true to the words of Weles everyone was tried. It reflected on the boats, everything was moving much more sluggish than in the morning.
Since it will take quite a while to get back I decided to check out my soul rank. It has risen by 3 ranks so I'm at 27 now, and the compression rank increased by one so it's 5 now, that's quite good indeed. I made another huge leap in my cultivation. At this rate I will reach rank 30 before I turn 10.
This speed truly makes me happy, at this point only soul land 5 tang san has better cultivation speed than me. I don't really think that's fair to compare anyway, after all he himself stated there that his cultivation is restoration rather than accumulation. As for my soul ring, I will check it out tomorrow.
Our boat ride really seemed to go on forever, it wasn't surprising as we were on our ends but we arrived on the shore finally. Everyone just said bye and left for their houses. I did the same, couldn't even spare any energy on thinking now. I didn't have to wait long after I threw myself onto the bed to fall asleep.
Waking up on the next day was extremely hard, my body just didn't want to leave the bed at all. I truly just wanted to sleep the entire day, and that seemed to be the plan for the day. Thankfully I did wake up in the end, but it was already afternoon when I did.
Everyone else seemed to be the same as me since no one showed up in the house. I don't think anyone will for the rest of the day too. If that's the case I will just have to train for the rest of the day. It's not like I have anything better to do anyway.
I came out of the house, and went straight to the beach, it didn't take long for me to get there, in fact it went by very fast. Not surprising considering I'm right next to it, but no matter it's about time I get to business.
I summon my water pen, as it appears in my hand a black soul ring appears from below my feet. I got into position and my soul ring lit up, it's time to start testing now.
It took me about 2 hours to figure all of it out, but I think I got it right about now. It seems my soul rings ability is quite simple, not really complicated but I think it will be quite useful when combined with my future soul rings.
It seems to be kind of like an enchant, when I activate it some of my soul power gets drained to activate it and it lasts for about 3 minutes. Afterwards my soul power and spiritual power gets drained slowly for it to keep going.
I can also deactivate it so my soul and spiritual power won't be drained anymore, it even has a cooldown to boot, obviously it's on cooldown after it deactivates, It can also deactivate once I cannot support it by myself.
As for what exactly it does, it seems my attacks made while having the water pen martial soul activated gain a rupture effect. Truly useful once I combine it with my future soul ring abilities they will become much more powerful. I also plan to do something in the future but that's not anytime soon in fact it may even take up to 20 years. So that's about it for my first soul ring.
"I should start training my sword intent right about now..."
*Slap*
Cai: "Calm yourself down Cai Ying, you can't just keep training your sword intent, you have 3 other martial souls, and you finally got a soul ring for your water pen. It's about time to start training your first two martial souls"
Okay I seem to have calmed down a bit now, It's time to focus more on my first two martial souls, I have high hopes for them after all, and I didn't pay much attention to them before compared to Caliburn as well.
Though I have no idea how to deepen my perception of elements exactly, I just do what my instincts tell me to, and honestly no way any other cultivator actually understands how to cultivate, I'm sure they do the same thing I do.

Well that's about it for today's chapter, finally we end this little arc of soul beast hunting, I'm extremely sorry that the chapter is short and I haven't updated in 3 days but it just happened.
