Marvina twirled the steel straw in her glass. “Then, are you uncomfortable because of the sprain? Should we visit the hospital?”

Once again, Jennet shook her head, “I’m fine.”

“Okay…” Marvina ran her eyes on her gloomy face. “Then, can I expect to hear something about that man? The one that is at your house?” Her face beamed in excitement.

Jennet went in silence as her finger ran on the rim of the round glass. Then, she spoke, “Before I tell you about that, I want to know about something else. In this country, are there laws that put women into jail for assaulting men?” It was hard to decipher her feeling when her eyes were as dead as a log.

Marvina coughed, choking on her drink. She scrabbled for a napkin and wiped her mouth. “W-why are you asking me that kind of question? That is a frightening question. W-what have you done exactly?” Her voice lowered.
