Capítulo 380: The Idea of Fusion

Editor: Atlas Studios

With that in mind, Ivan decided to add Boggart to his list of options for integration.

Boggart may be weak and non-aggressive, but its ever-changing abilities were considered excellent by Ivan and could be used in many situations.

After all, Boggart could change into so many things!

From non-living things like tables and chairs, pots and pans, to wizards, small animals, and other living things, even magical creatures could be conjured!

For example, in the original timeline, when Harry used Boggart's ability to practice the skill, Boggart transformed into a Dementor, causing Harry to experience the same fear he would have when facing a real Dementor.

This meant that Boggart's transfiguration was not a simple trick or illusion, but a real transfiguration that was highly camouflaged and difficult to see through!

Of course, Ivan was well aware that Boggart's transfiguration would not have the same power as the original, and would inevitably be accompanied by all kinds of limitations, such as the weakness of being broken at the sound of laughter!

Otherwise, Boggart's danger rating would not be so low that he could handle a junior wizard…

Even so, it was enough to move Ivan!

Not to mention Boggart's ability to sense his worst fears, which even his Level 5 Occlumency could not hide.

It was a weak magical creature with extremely special abilities!

Suitable as his next Fusion Target!

'I wonder if Boggart has blood?'

Ivan rubbed his chin as he recalled reading about the Boggart, a creature that, upon death, usually exploded into a thousand plumes of smoke, apparently without blood.

This would not be too much of an obstacle, as Ivan had read in Slytherin's research notes that magical creatures without blood could be substituted for other creatures with something vital.

The more Yvonne thought about it, the more she liked it, gradually increasing Boggart's priority, including the Thestrals and Pixies, as the primary targets of this blood-fusion.

Ivan had not yet decided which potion to choose, and would wait until the Bloodline Fusion Potion was complete.

Unconsciously, they walked all the way from the classroom to the Great Hall.

Over dinner, Ron discussed the previous Defence Against the Dark Arts class with great excitement. "Professor Lupin is simply wonderful! This is the Defence Against the Dark Arts class I've been looking forward to! I wonder what we'll be up against next… Cerberus? Giant? Merman in the lake?"

"How is that possible? It's not like Hagrid's in class…it's probably the Red Hat or the Kappa!" Hermione flipped open the textbook, and behind Boggart's chapter were the Red Hat and the Kappa.

"It'll be fun, too. Better than sitting in a classroom reading textbooks!" Ron's excitement was undiminished, but the next Defence Against the Dark Arts lesson was days away, and he could hardly wait.

Ron then recalled how Boggart seemed to transform into a silver-white ball when he approached Lupin in class, and asked curiously, "Why do you think Professor Lupin is afraid of a crystal ball?"

This time, however, there was no reply, and Hermione seemed to think of something as she quickly flipped through the pages of her book, while Harry sat there brooding.

Ivan waved his knife and fork, cutting a small piece of steak and putting it in his mouth. He was silent, knowing that Lupin was not afraid of the crystal ball but the full moon.

Because a full moon causes a werewolf to transform and lose their mind, it usually causes a great deal of damage, exposing them as werewolves and causing them to be ostracised by other wizards.

Lupin must have been through a lot to be afraid of the full moon!

It was just that Ivan didn't want Ron and the others to find out so soon, in case they let it slip and someone else overheard.

At the same time, Ivan noticed Harry's strange expression, and after swallowing the steak, he turned to Harry and asked, "Harry, what's wrong? Are you okay?"

Hermione and Ron both looked over with worried expressions.

"Nothing," Harry said, shaking his head, then hesitated and added gloomily, "I just don't understand why Professor Lupin stopped me from fighting Boggart…"

"Perhaps he's worried about you…" Ron began, but Harry interrupted him.

"I could have dealt with it! It wasn't hard, was it? Everyone did it!"

Harry was loudly venting his emotions, his expression sour.

He thought that Professor Lupin might have underestimated him when he passed out after seeing the Dementor on the train, thinking that he was incompetent and unable to face Boggart in the same manner.

Ron, taken aback by Harry's reaction, looked at him in bewilderment, and Hermione opened her mouth to say something, but she didn't know how to comfort him…

"Oh, I'm sorry, I got carried away!" Harry apologized, quickly realising he had sounded too aggressive.

"Don't think too much about it, Professor Lupin is just worried about scaring people off! You know, in the eyes of the average person, you're the worst enemy of the You-Know-Who!" Ivan explained, noticing that Harry seemed to be jumping to conclusions.

"You're saying Professor Lupin was worried about You-Know-Who being in class?" Hermione asked, looking at Harry in disbelief.

"Well, that's about it!" Yvonne agreed, confirming Hermione's suspicions.

Harry felt a little better at the same thought…

During the first few weeks of his term at Hogwarts, Malfoy made a big deal out of the fact that Harry had been "shocked" by Dementors, and Harry felt that he was being looked at the wrong way.

Though Malfoy had calmed down considerably in recent times, Harry was still very upset about the incident and wanted to prove that he did not fall at Malfoy's touch.

"By the way, Ivan! Can you tell us why Boggart turned into you in class?" Hermione asked, deliberately changing the subject so as not to continue talking about things that had upset Harry.

"Didn't I tell you in class? There's nothing in the world to be afraid of except this!" Ivan said casually, eating his dinner with a straight face.

Hermione didn't want to believe such nonsense, but she couldn't read Ivan's expression.

Harry, on the other hand, was quite envious of Ivan. He believed that the reason Boggart had taken on Ivan's appearance was because Ivan had nothing to fear.
