If the judges rated us less for that, it meant they hated who they were.
The first judge raised his card, displaying a bold nine!
"Yayyyyyyyyy!" Everyone from our school hollered with joy.
The third judge scored us a nine also, leaving just Cowell who scored us a seven point five.
That took me off guard. I was expecting him to mess up because of the murmurs from the seniors but he didn't just break his record, he scored us past what was expected of him too.
The cheers from our school echoed through the auditorium, drowning out the few whispers of disappointment from some seniors who had probably bet on a lower score.
"Well, well, well! Look at that!" Devarn exclaimed, patting me on the back. "We smashed it!"
"See, I told you guys, we weren't going to disappoint!" Bale said, pumping his fists in the air.
