Capítulo 40: Outsmarted Pt. 1

Kristof's Point of View

I could see Callie and Noah belted into the upside-down car. Noah appeared to be moving, probably trying to get out, and it was hard to see if Callie was okay. Given that Noah wasn't raging, Callie was probably fine.

The two men were beside the car looking in through the broken windows. Aláine pointed to the man standing by Callie. He looked pissed off, but so was I. As we stopped the car, I noticed that the man Aláine pointed to had seen the real Aláine. The bastard was smiling, and it was sending me into a rage.

"Stay here!" I yelled to Aláine as I got out of the car.

I stood facing one of the strange men while he circled, looking for a way to attack me. The man was as Aláine had described him. This was the man who tried to abduct her. He had put his filthy hands on her. I could feel my anger rising, but I needed to stay in control. I needed to protect Aláine.
