B1 and b2

Turns out some people were thinking of my well being and made me some soup for brekky with one of the bucks meat I ended up with last night.

The rest of the animals are either being sold to someone with the money to buy them or stored in someone's house whose name I wasn't paying attention too, but they said I could pick it up whenever.

I'm not even sure who's buying or selling my acquired meat but as long as the coin winds up in my medieval fanny pack they call a purse then I have no problem with it.

So after a couple bowls of bland meat soup that's still better then nutrient gel…..I think Spices are one of the first things I'm going to have to start looking for when I get some merchant ships together.

But I make it back to the smithy and it's been a few hours since I left my lads to get it warmed up and ready, and it seems everything's been set up…tools along the benches, an anvil placed at either side of the furnace with hammers and tongs laid about.

I notice the boys using the bellows and feeding the furnace to bring it up to temperature and break it in without having to be told….well not that I should expect anything else, they HAVE been doing this for years, it's just hard to get out of my mind that the people of this world aren't as dumb as I give them credit for….or maybe they are, only time will tell.

"How's the furnace and shop looking lads"

They were both so caught up in their work they didn't notice me enter and were a bit startled when I seemed to pop out of nowhere but still answered with enthusiasm.

" both are looking fantastic m'lord, this workshop is much better than the one I worked in back in winterfell, to say nothing of this new furnace m'lord…..it's excellent, almost a work of art at how easy it is to keep running that the furnace I used to work with seems like a bad joke in next to it"

"That's what I like to hear boys, how's the heat coming, we ready to get this started or what?"

" yes m'lord, it's ready to go, we were just waiting on you to return before we actually started anything….there has also been a few jobs coming in since you left, turns out not having a blacksmith in town left the amount of work to be done quiet the tall order, I imagine we would be busy for a time to come"

" good to hear it boys, and don't worry about the other work just yet, ya'll gonna be busy for the next month or so working on some things I'm going to show you today, so let's get this cracking, throw in some iron"

The first thing would be both a heavy and light plow, I've actually got a fair bit of leather that's been tanning for the straps, and plenty of rope around as well due to being in a fishing village so that's not a problem, they are both similar and fairy basic design so these two should be able to watch and make 'em without much trouble, the issue is going to be the seed still, I plan on making a fairly complex one that requires something to pull it…but it also does the work about 4 times faster

It's not going to be difficult for me to make or anything it's more the fact it's semi complicated and required a few working bits that need pretty accurate measurements that will make it a struggle for these two to really learn quickly….I'll probably have to smash out 2-3 of them myself while they watch and leave some blueprints for them to mess around with later on…

But meh….

I spend the next 8 hours working the forge with my little apprentices using smithing styles and skills they have never even heard of to their absolute awe and adoration...I had to assure them multiple times I wasn't some hidden master smith the world has never heard of….even though I technically am

I whacked together a single heavy plow, light plow and where a majority of my time was sunk, the seed drill.

The plows are self explanatory and the smiths who's name I haven't asked yet I just called the b1 and b2, a little disrespectful I know, but i was focused and they didn't seem to mind.

But the seed drill looked a lot more complicated….and it was….but it was fairly easy to use and once I showed b1 and b2 how it worked and what it could do for farming yields and time they seemed to get it…it was a game changer for sure….one man can do the works of dozens of men with minimal effort… so dozens of times bigger farms, dozens of times more food, dozens of time more money….game changer..

A bit of a problem it's going to have that I can't really do anything about at the moment is that we are on the coast and iron doesn't do well with salt….even if they looked after this gear perfectly it will problem only last 4-5 years before it falls apart…

So I'll only make 4-5 of these things and have the farmers share…. I'll hand em out for free….well not free, I'll take 40% of their harvest….but considering the dozen times bigger harvests they're going to have… they still come out ahead by a staggering number compared to the average farmer…and that 40% includes a beast of burden to pull the things….I did get horses, might as well use em.

"B2 go round up any farmers in town and let 'em know to head over here tomorrow morning so I can show em how to work these things"

"Yes m'lord"

Blacksmith 2 rushed out to fulfil his mission as blacksmith 1 was cleaning up after we finished up…

In-between forging the parts for the seed drill I found a good few crates of bronze ingots in the fellas supplies so I pinched some and hammered up some bronze pulleys and heavy duty gears for a hand crank, to rig the new fishing ship with ….should be easy enough to fit something to the side of the ship….I'll just have to make a quick run to the forest for lumber.

So leaving b1 to clean the shop I did just that and went for a quick sprint to the forest for a couple trees to rig up a net hauler for the boat…

I'm sure the fishing guys and gals will be back soon enough as it will be dark in a few hours, and I'd heard they loaded up to go fishing this morning….

I also had will go through the ironborn loot for me due to me being to busy today to check it out myself .

It was a decent haul as it seemed they hit a merchant ship or two before making their way to land to pick up some slaves, oh wait, slavery is illegal….what I meant was, to pick up some thralls and saltwives that they would have acquire by paying the iron price….which translates to attacking villages to loot and rape and takes slaves back to calamari island…but you didn't hear me saying that…. When I check out my territory a bit more and if I manage to find some decent mines, I'll definitely be looking the iron islands way to pick up some mining thralls…

But off topic again… there were a few bolts of silk, a good 2 dozen big barrels of decently expensive wine, carpets and rugs and about 400 gold dragons and some change in silver stags….which is a solid haul they pulled in…. Which is now mine…

I don't actually have a house yet, so will organised the house of a recently deceased couple that died in the ironborn raid to stash my loot and also live there to guard my shit….I'm pretty sure people won't try and steal from me….but I'd rather have will there just in case someone get ballsy…

I like that will kid, and have officially made him my 2nd in command, much to the sheer delight of his mother and father….I'll pick him and maybe 2-3 more to really focus on training to help me run the place….I'll also train them to fight….tactics and so on.

The 40k verse war tactics won't do very well in westeros as I can't just drown my enemies in human corpses and if that fails just destroy the planet….I'll have to train to minimise losses and fighting tactics….but I'll train will and the others I pick for that….I'd rather just charge the front lines by myself when war starts up again to be honest…

But with logs under arm, I'm running back to the village to wait for the ship to return so I can jerry rig up a big net hauler onto the ship.

It takes nearly no time for me to return as I'm now dropping off the logs near the shore and heading back to the workshop to pick I'm up the pulleys and gears.

I'm mentally going over my plans, finished the smithy, finished the farming tools, I just need to show people how to use them…got supplies to refit the fishing boat….next is…the barns and buying the animals I think?….I think I'll do that after going for a quick sprint through my territory tonight…. I want to check the mountains and valleys and see if I can't find anything useful…

I'm suddenly brought out of my thoughts as I see in the distance the fishing ship I lent to the fishers….but it's being followed by 3 more ships…..with krakens on the main sail….oh….my….emperor…..MORE FREE SHIPS!!!

Without any delay I run towards the water stripping down naked….don't want to ruin my clothes after all….and dive into the water..
