Capítulo 402: Is Destruction Equal to Balance?"

"I warned you, sympathy has no benefits."

Of course, Ra's al Ghul wouldn't feel gratitude for Bruce Wayne's "life-saving grace." Setting aside their ideological conflicts, he saved Bruce Wayne first and then taught him relevant skills and abilities.

But in the end, Batman burned down the "League of Shadows," and in Ra's al Ghul's eyes, this was undoubtedly payback. It's like someone burned your house, then knocked you out, and saved you from the fire. Would you feel grateful for their lifesaving grace?

In the frame, Bruce Wayne furrowed his brows, glanced around, and said, "This is between you and me. Let the others go."

He could be sure that Ra's al Ghul was up to no good, and he had the potential to endanger the safety of these innocent people at his party.

That was one of the things Bruce Wayne was concerned about.

Ra's al Ghul casually said, "You can explain the situation to them yourself."

He was putting Batman in a difficult position. Bruce Wayne couldn't just turn to everyone and announce that a very dangerous terrorist leader had arrived at his party, and everyone should run for their lives, or else they'd be in danger.

Not to mention that this might lead to Ra's al Ghul directly killing to eliminate witnesses, and the guests would surely panic and run chaotically.

Bruce Wayne raised an eyebrow and had no choice but to dismiss the guests using a different approach. He pretended to be drunk, started acting irrationally, and berated the guests at the party as freeloaders and sycophants.

He emphasized that he wasn't joking. As a result, the guests looked at each other and left the scene.

While Bruce Wayne successfully evacuated the guests using this method, it came at the cost of the Wayne family's reputation in upper circles.

Some guests openly criticized him, saying he was a spendthrift who had tarnished his father's legacy.

As everyone knows, Batman's father was an upstanding man, and now, not even his reputation could be preserved.

Fortunately, through the live broadcast of this Quiz game, the audience understood the circumstances, and they also appreciated Bruce Wayne's ability to adapt to the situation.

After the guests left, Ra's al Ghul's henchmen surrounded Bruce Wayne and watched him closely.

Ra's al Ghul chuckled and said, "That was amusing, but what you did was meaningless. These people won't live much longer. Your actions at the Arkham Asylum have forced me to intervene personally."

Bruce Wayne didn't get angry but used the opportunity to gather information. He asked, "So, Crane is indeed working for you?"

At this point, perhaps feeling that he had the upper hand, Ra's al Ghul didn't hide it. "His toxin is derived from organic compounds in our blue flowers. He uses it as a weapon."

"Crane?"

Outside the video, Commissioner Gordon raised an eyebrow. "That name sounds familiar..."

"Ra's mentioned the Arkham Asylum. So, this Crane is most likely the director of Arkham Asylum, Jonathan Crane," Bruce Wayne said in a deep voice. "I suspect he's collaborating with Falcone and often uses the excuse of mental illness to assist Falcone's henchmen."

Before being selected for the Quiz game, Batman had already started investigating Falcone and had gathered this information, some of which came from his childhood friend Rachel.

Peter Parker immediately understood, "So, this Crane has connections with Ra's al Ghul. That means Ra's al Ghul and the underworld boss Falcone are also working together?"

"That's normal. The League of Shadows' attempt to destroy Gotham requires a local partner to facilitate their actions. They picked me in the past, but I refused," Bruce Wayne explained.

Through this seemingly random future video, Bruce Wayne had pieced together the hidden information. Just as he had said, figures like the crime boss Falcone and the Arkham Asylum director Crane were all pawns of Ra's al Ghul.

He was the true mastermind behind the plot against Gotham!

In the live video, Ra's al Ghul openly admitted that his goal was to destroy all of Gotham, including the millions of people living in the city. However, he didn't see this as a crime but as a form of balance between all things. He claimed to represent the League of Shadows, which had existed for over a thousand years or perhaps longer.

Whenever a civilization began to decline, they would appear and bring retribution, calling it balance.

They had caused plagues in the Roman Empire and set fires in London, and now, it was Gotham's turn, and this wasn't their first time targeting Gotham either.

Ra's al Ghul probably considered Batman a dead man and didn't mind revealing more truth to a "dead man."

Of course, Ra's al Ghul had told Batman all of this because of their mentor-student relationship. He stated that Batman was his proudest student, someone who should have followed in his footsteps to "save" the world. Instead, he had gone his separate way.

Ra's al Ghul also told Batman that they had tried to destroy Gotham economically in the past but failed. The one who thwarted their plan wasn't someone else but Bruce Wayne's late father.

"he was shot by the people he wanted to help!"

Ra's al Ghul said softly to Bruce Wayne, and by now, his henchmen had set the magnificent Wayne Manor on fire.

"...his death awakened the citizens of Gotham to take matters into their own hands, and Gotham survived. We've returned to put an end to all of this, and this time, there won't be any self-proclaimed heroes to stand in our way."

Clearly, this master of ninjutsu had a twisted sense of humour, speaking provocatively in front of his "hero's" son.

He even reprimanded his once-proud disciple, telling him not to be as weak as his late father. If someone stands in the way of true justice in their eyes, they should have the courage to strike at the heart.

Ra's al Ghul didn't like Batman's "no-kill" philosophy and considered it a weakness.

However, saying this in front of everyone was obviously a way to show off...

This irritated many viewers, especially Batman's fans. "Who does he think he is? How dare he be so arrogant in front of Batman?!"
