Diana swung the Lasso of Truth, managing to ensnare lightning with it, using it as a makeshift swing...
She showed off her skills, not only stunning the audience but also showcasing the grace of Wonder Woman. After teasing Doctor Strange, who also wielded a whip, she descended from the sky and landed amidst the crowd.
With a resounding crash, she sent numerous alien soldiers and henchmen flying, clearing a portion of the chaotic battlefield, just like Thor had done earlier.
Side by side, they exchanged glances, a sense of camaraderie forming between them, and then they charged towards the core of the alien army!
Thor and Wonder Woman led the charge in the human resistance, but Thanos' extraterrestrial forces seemed endless, stretching as far as the eye could see.
Even though players had provided warnings about Thanos through various channels over the past two days, it hadn't garnered much attention.
After all, prophecies of an apocalypse, even with future videos as evidence and Nick Fury's assurance, still sounded too horrifying.
The official response from America would take time, even with an efficient think tank to assist. It might take ten days to two weeks before they could take any action.
Bruce Wayne, Steve Rogers, and others were well aware of the government's sluggish response, which is why in their previous time-travel mission, they staged a play featuring Thanos invading Earth, along with corresponding future videos to get the official's attention.
Otherwise, in the current situation, with Thanos' army already invading, they couldn't rely on America's support, and it would ultimately fall to these superheroes to stand up.
"Listen, Peter, your task is simple. Stick close to your other self and don't get yourself hurt. We won't be able to look after you later!"
On the outskirts of the battlefield, player Tony Stark gave instructions to Peter Parker.
Young Spider-Man, Holland's version, glanced at player Peter Parker(Tobey Maguire), dressed in Spider-Man costume, he seemed somewhat reluctant. "Mr. Stark, I'm also an Avenger. I can handle myself in combat!"
Player Tony Stark patted his shoulder. "Don't be foolish, kid. The reason we could come here is because of you. We can't afford to get you in trouble; otherwise, it will backfire on us. Understand?"
The main mission of these players' time travel was to protect Spider-Man(Tom Holland). The rewards for a successful mission were substantial, with hundreds of points plus other bonuses. However, if the mission failed, the penalties were equally severe.
So, even though the current Spider-Man, Holland's version, was capable of protecting himself, the players didn't want anything to happen to him. Before this battle began, they instructed player Peter Parker(Tobey Maguire), to take care of his parallel-timeline self.
After giving these instructions, player Tony Stark immediately flew away.
Peter(Tom Holland) felt a bit down, but emotions came and went quickly for young people. After taking down some alien soldiers while swinging alongside player Peter Parker (Toby Maguire), Peter's mood lifts again.
Looking up and seeing Wonder Woman and Thor coordinating their attacks, with lightning constantly striking down, Wonder Woman swung her Lasso of Truth, gracefully manoeuvring on the battlefield.
Peter(Tom Holland) couldn't help but exclaim, "Hey, big guy, can we do something like that? Swing on lightning with our webs?"
Peter Parker(Toby Maguire) shook his head. "Lightning? Forget it, buddy. Let's stick to the basics. But you can ask Mr. Stark to design a more convenient suit for you, something like his, where you can fly without webs."
"Well, I am Spider-Man, I don't want to become Iron Man Jr..."
Peter Parker chuckled. "You know, in our world, people envy you because they say Peter Parker is Iron Man's most beloved child."
"Hey, what's so funny about that? You're also Peter Parker!"
"But in my world, there's no Mr. Stark..."
While the two Spider-Men swung on their webs, they couldn't stop chatting, sometimes complaining about the inconvenience of webs, and other times commenting on other superheroes.
However, some of the other Avengers were facing more trouble.
Stephen Strange was up against Ebony Maw, one of Thanos' Black Order members, and he had to admit that this advisor of Thanos has formidable power and is a tough opponent.
Ebony Maw wielded telekinesis with incredible skill, and it appeared effortless and elegant. He could levitate above the ground, and manipulate matter with a wave of his hand, as if he were a creator, and everything in the material world obeyed his commands.
Honestly, facing such an opponent, Stephen was feeling somewhat passive and frustrated. Even though in the eyes of onlookers, both he and Ebony Maw were Sorcerers, to Stephen Strange, Ebony's telekinetic attacks felt more like some kind of superpower.
Moreover, this guy didn't need to recite spells or perform rituals; he could manipulate everything around him with a wave of his hand, even using the bodies of fallen alien soldiers to launch attacks.
In comparison, Stephen Strange's spells required incantations and hand gestures, and unfortunately, Ebony Maw had seized upon this weakness, disrupting his spells with telekinetically hurled debris whenever he attempted to cast.
In this "magic battle," Doctor Strange was feeling quite frustrated, unable to fully utilize his magical abilities.
"Strange, maybe you should learn what the correct combat methods for sorcerers are!"
As Doctor Strange controlled an alien corpse with his telekinesis, Loki happened to pass by, wearing a smile and teasing him.
Stephen Strange rolled his eyes. "What kind of sorcerer are you?"
Loki, who claimed to be one of the most powerful sorcerers in the Nine Realms, had managed to dodge the telekinetic attacks using his illusions. He then closed the distance with Ebony Maw and suddenly struck with two daggers, aiming for the chest!
Loki was quite experienced in sneak attacks like this, choosing the right timing and angle. It caught Ebony Maw off guard, exploiting his distracted state and blind spots in his vision.
