Capítulo 16: Disaster Post Hosu

Pakkun was quite lost. Having seen the news with his very own eyes, he saw his summoner kill his target, then pass out and get taken away on a stretcher. They were in Hosu, but he didn't know where that was. He could've followed the trail that was left by Kakashi but something told him that that direction wasn't where his summoner was. Still, he was going to go there to gather clues. If Kakashi was in that direction, then maybe his scent would lead him to Hosu. From his smell, the trail lead to the edge of the city and maybe a bit further beyond after that. If he guessed it would take him a couple hours to reach the other side of the city before even more trying to continue from there.

Though he wished his contract was as strong as other summons. Then perhaps he could summon himself to Kakashi. But they weren't as strong as other summons like the Sage Toads that could do things like that. That meant he'd have to find him the long and hard way.

He set out from the house, and set himself a path with the least amount of smells. If Kakashi was captured, and someone knew of his existence, they would likely be looking for him soon. He'd rather not have so many eyes on him if that was going to be the case. It wouldn't bode well for him, especially with all the advanced technology.

He just hoped Kakashi hadn't doomed himself.

The following hours after the battle in Hosu, the entire nation was following the story. Heroes from all cities came for support, making sure all civilians were safe and helping with the transport of injured civilians. Social media buzzed rapidly with theories on just who Kakashi and the other man was. Most disagreed with Kakashi killing another person and praised heroes in training Todoroki, Midoriya, and Tenya for their bravery to go against Blade and the Hero Killer Stain. Burnin, Endeavor, and his agency had also been credited as first responders that saved many lives, having gotten rid of the Nomu and helping with the finish of Stain.

Another important discussed topic was of the destruction of major parts of Hosu as well as Stain's apparent involvement with the League of Villains and their apparent involvement with the Nomu attack.

While all were highly discussed and debated among forums, the internet, and the news, none could compare to the relationship that had been found out by the population at large. And that was the fact that Kakashi is the son of one of the top pro heroes in Japan. After that, leaks confirmed that it was an adoption that happened a short while ago, though many had already known since neither of them look like the other.

Many between pros, civilians, and even villains discussed these topics. The Hosu Disaster was the most destructive event ever to happen to a city in a long time. Roads over many blocks were destroyed as well as the buildings that overlooked them. It left many without jobs and apartments to return to and many had been confirmed dead from the Nomu.

The Police Chief went on the next day to publicly announce the causalities and went on to say that they have changed the League of Villains to priority targets. Word on Kakashi was scarce and the public was only told that he would be dealt with properly.

UA also was under fire for having four of their students fight in this massive threat and one of them kill a villain. School had been closed for a couple of days after as they were scheduled to have a conference to explain what they would be doing.

In the words of a certain blonde, it was a shit show.

Katsuki Bakugo crossed the street casually on his way from training, a hand in his pocket and one scrolling through his phone. The Disaster in Hosu was inescapable. It was everywhere on the internet and everyone was talking about it. While annoyed at this, he couldn't say he wasn't interested in it either. Videos of the fight between both Midoriya and Kakashi as well as Todoroki and Tenya had been leaked. He'd already saved it to his phone, seeing that multiple attempts to delete the videos off the sites they were on were going to ruin it for him.

He watched the video probably more times than he'd admit. More specifically, Kakashi and Midoriya. And even more specifically, Kakashi. At first he was angry. He had been underestimated so much. He thought he pushed Kakashi, at the very least, but all Kakashi showed during the fright showed him that Kakashi was holding back, both in abilities and speed and power. If he Kakashi wanted to, he would be nothing more than a crushed grape.

They thought caused him to go to train immediately. He needed to get stronger. No one was better than him. This was just a fluke, he had thought, because he hadn't been training hard enough. He knew he wouldn't reach that level so soon, but he did already make his strides, specifically in copying the movements Kakashi's movements. With all his training he'd gotten his basic stance and movement down, but it was more than clumsy and didn't work with his less flexible body, even though he was quite flexible naturally.

That was a work in progress. What really worried him was the way Kakashi had actually killed someone. Even though he said it a lot, he'd never actually attempted to kill anyone. Most of his death threats were merely threats of hurt, not ones that he would kill someone over. But Kakashi's kill was merciless. With how many times he'd seen it, he'd gotten down every single movement and found that even though stabbed, Kakashi was very much still alive and able to move. But he waited, like a patient predator waited on their pray, slowly. Until he was distracted enough that he couldn't dodge at point blank. It was a merciless kill, that was quick and merciful. It was bloody, but peaceful. In the end, he'd probably died instantly.

The way he killed wasn't what bothered him. It was the fact that he'd been okay with killing at all. It wasn't as if he resorted to doing it. He'd blatantly wanted to kill the man the whole time they were fighting. Im a way, he was disgusted, and in another he was curious. How could someone younger than him already have the urge, patience, and will to kill? In their society, that shouldn't be possible. Kakashi proved that wrong.

Damn, another rival to deal with. Like he wasn't already dealing with enough problems. The thought made him grin, however. If he overcame all of this, he was definitely the best. And the first step was getting stronger than he was currently. When he came to, his phone had gone to his contacts and his thumb was on Mirko's contact info, suitably named rabbit bitch.

He growled lowly at it. And pressed it. If he was going to get stronger, a top 5 hero was one of the best ways, he supposed.

Aizawa was never in a good mood unless he was on his lonesome with his cats. But now, not even that was enough to sate his anger. Four, four of his students went to fight two dangerous criminals that partly destroyed Hosu, killed tons of people, and killed two notable heroes from the city. All his responsibility. The rational side of him told him that he'd given the reigns to other pros but most of him blamed himself for it. Neither side could he escape, so he felt conflicted and confused. That was the reason for his mood.

Well, other than the fact that he'd have to talk to a crowd of people on national television. The thought did a lot in crafting his unapproachable mood and he made it a point that he wanted to talk to no one. Not even Hizashi. He spent the next couple of days looking at all the forms of media about the situation while writing out and practicing what he would say during the conference. He used the media to write down questions he would most likely get asked.

This part wasn't bad. If only someone else could take over the speaking aspect, then his mood would probably be better. He wished he could go out on patrol and beat villains up on the cover of night, but he'd be wishing for criminals, which wasn't good. Plus, being in the limelight doing anything would do him no favors, whether he did good or bad probably wouldn't matter. He'd rather avoid the media asking him more questions, if possible.

His cellphone rung and brought sound to the dark, silent apartment. His cat moved behind him, probably to get away from the sound. He picked it up and brought it to his ear.

"Hello?"

"Am I a mouse? A bear? Or-"

"Get on with it Nezu."

The animal laughed. "Fine. Have you figured out what you wanted to say during the conference?"

He opened his mouth to answer, then looked at his mostly blank paper. "It's coming along."

"For some reason, that doesn't sound very convincing." He said. "The conference is tomorrow. I'm sure you know I can't push it back. The Commission is pushing for our response. It's possible the whole world will be watching."

"Thanks. You really know how to relieve the pressure." He said, rolling his eyes. "Speaking of the commission, what is their response to the situation. The League is a known factor of the Hosu Disaster and while the police have given their thoughts, the Commission hasn't."

Nezu is silent for the next few seconds, and it's so long that he almost checks to see if he's hung up.

"I've only spoke with the President briefly, but I can say that they are looking into finding any leads that can trace back to the League. They've taken almost all of the Nomu that attacked Hosu, so I assume they will try to learn the secrets of how they are created."

It was known that the Nomu that they'd captured wannnothing more than a command awaiting corpse and morals and laws kept the body from being dissected. Then being dead, fixed the problem.

"And what about Kakashi?"

"I've heard even less I'm afraid." He paused. "His situation is unique. Many say that his killing was unnecessary and most of the Commission seem to agree. I suppose the reason it's taking them long to decide is because of Kakashi's talent as well as his relationship with Ryukyu."

"You think he'll be sent to Tartarus?" He hadn't wanted to ask, but it seemed life didn't give him the pleasure of choice.

The answer was probably what he expected.

"There's a chance. A strong one. Young Kakashi is troubled. And with everything about the League coming to the public, it won't look good to keep him around." His tone was less joyous and more calculating. A scary sign. "I've already suspected that he will be removed from UA, and I don't believe there is much I can do about that."

While expected, it was definitely something he didn't want to happen. Kakashi needed to be around people his age, in his opinion. Normal children so he could learn how to act.

"I'm not surprised. Hey, I'm going to go." The writing he needed to do still had to be written, and he wanted to be left to his thoughts. Alone. "I'll send you a copy of what I write in an email."

He hung up before any protest could be heard, well, if the rat would protest. In his dark room, lit by a single computer screen, he sighed. For he didn't know what he wanted to do. And he hadn't felt that way in a long time.

X

The next morning was more than hectic. He found himself dragged into Nezu's office and dressed up like he were some sort of doll. Midnight and Mic were practically picking what he would wear and how he would look by themselves. They didn't listen to his little inputs. It was more than annoying, and he just decided to roll with it. That way he could have a little piece from it.

Nezu hadn't made much changes to his writing, though he didn't expect him to. He didn't have much to say. Although they were his students, he wasn't there to actually do anything about what had gone done in Hosu. His statement was basically curtesy, for lack of a better word.

"Is this finally over?" He felt stuffy. He would definitely burn this so he wouldn't have to where it again.

Midnight had a smile on her face. It looked eerie, somehow. "I suppose. Now, go out there and make me proud."

Really? "You aren't my mother."

"They grow up so fast!" Tearfully, Mic joined in on the joke.

He rolled his eyes, and looked to Nezu instead. "Time's almost here. Let's get going."

Nezu seemed much too happy for having to talk to appease people around the country "Ah, don't you like the teasing!"

For what seemed the millionth time today, he rolled his eyes.

XxX

No one in the world was probably more ecstatic than he was. Though not everything went to plan—there were certainly mishaps, the status quo had changed. Not only would UA lose one of their students, they would lose faith from the public because they were unable to keep students from fighting villains. Not only that, but one their students had killed a villain on live television.

He watched the tv with glee, wondering what excuse would UA come up with now.

"You seem happy these days, Shiguraki." One of his top subordinates sat a drink on the bar for him.

"I can't help it, Kurogiri. Everything's falling into place. Just a bit more pushing and this Hero ran society will crumble like dirt." His hand balled into a fist, as if to show what he meant properly.

"Just be patient." He didn't seem convinced. "We've lost both Stain and Blade at once. While Stain wasn't on our side, having him around would've been more effective."

"Stain was a non factor. He's a fool. Blade is the real lost. If I would've known he was that strong I would've sent Nomu there for support. Having him in our ranks after that showing would get me support from all over." The villain couldn't stop his show of excitement. "I've gotten support just because of his existence. If he were alive I'd be unstoppable."

"Speaking of that, they should be arriving soon." He said.

"Good, good. Make sure they get a warm welcome, and get them prepared." Though still excited, his next smile could scare the skin off someone. "We've got a body to recover."

Kurogiri looked, only for a second. He nodded. "Of course."

In a secret part of the hideout, a man smirked, loving what he was seeing. All his grooming went perfectly. He was close. So close to making the perfect weapon against the heroes. He knew that body was key to his plan.

He knew it would be near impossible to defeat then after they acquired his quirk.

A small man came into view, smirking under the darkness of the shadows. He nodded at him.

"The Nomu are nearly ready. I've worked tirelessly on them ever since you requested, All for One."

"Good." That's what he liked. Obedience. "Have as many as you can ready. They'll play distraction so the main team can run the real plan."

"Yes, I understand."

All for One smirked, looking at the boy who struck the killing blow, shown brightly on a monitor before him. Having him apart of them would prove adventurous. Not only did he display the same skill as Blade, he had more than one quirk. If they had similar powerful, then it was possible using Blade's quirk would give him similar results in strength.

'Times are changing, Yagi. Soon, I'll drive this world back into chaos.'

She worked tirelessly with the police. The same answer to her pleads came back. There was nothing they could do. Apparently. She didn't believe them. Maybe their hands were tied a bit since it was the Hero Commission, but she honestly didn't believe that they couldn't do something. That was possible.

Nevertheless, without their direct support, anything she said was meaningless. To them, she had emotional attachment, which made her obsolete in the investigation. Someone to pass over. Someone with no significance.

It was strange. A top ten hero not given the time of day. She was never one to brag about her accomplishments, but she couldn't believe that this could happen. It didn't seem real, like she was living in a dream. A daze. Things were just happening around her, and she was left just dealing with it.

Back at her home, she was writing down everything she heard from the news on a notebook. Her computer light up her dark room, the sound of the reporter's voice drowning out the heavy rain outside. It'd been raining since that day. Nonstop. Like a reflection of her mood.

A possibility of jail time. Possible life sentence. A possibility of her losing Kakashi. She knew it was only a matter of time before she received that news. Was it guaranteed? Was the decision already made? Could she do anything about it?

Probably not. She wasn't All Might. He was probably the only person that had sway in the upper politics of the Hero world.

'S-Should I go to him?' The thought sounded stupid. She didn't have to even voice it. 'No, no, I shouldn't. I don't even know him.'

She sighed and clicked on her computer, pausing the video. She laid her notebook on her bed before getting up to get a glass of water. There was no more sound to drown out the rain. Only her. Alone.

She stopped and took a long look at the staircase. Kakashi's room was up there. His old room was up there.

She forced herself to look away.

She flicked up the light switch as she walked into the kitchen. The water was cooling on her throat. A thought came to her while she was drinking. A corpse. Unmoving in an alleyway. Kakashi searching its body. It was all so fuzzy. She stopped drinking and let the rest of it into the sink. She rinsed out the cup and put it back into the cabinet.

She stopped. The doorbell rung.

It brought her back into focus. "Kaka-" She closed her mouth with an audible snap, and stayed still. Like she was frozen. It felt like it. She had almost asked him to open the door for her.

The doorbell rung again.

Oh, right. The doorbell.

A second later and she opened her door. Tsukauchi sent her a small smile. A trying smile. "Can I come in?"

She found herself staring. She stepped to the side and gestured inside.

"Oh, thank you." He let down his umbrella as he came in. She didn't mind the water he brought in, it wouldn't take long to dry up, after all.

"Do you remember what I told you? Back at the station?" He asked.

"Detective," she sounded harsher than she meant. His small recoil told her as much. "What are you doing here?"

He rubbed the back of his head, looking away briefly. "Well, yea, I'm sorry. I suppose I should've started with that. I know you've been looking for me, but I was given strict orders not to talk to you. You kept coming up to the station and everything, so I waited until you'd given up. That way others will think that as well."

She met his eyes. For the first time in a while, she felt her heart beating again. "Then, you'll help me?"

He nodded. "Yes, but it won't be easy. The Hero Commission has taken action. It's all but confirmed that he's been released from UA. It'll take a while, but they should be trying to put him into their custody. It'll be hard for them, your guardianship holds weight."

"Is there anything I can do? If what you say is true, right now, legally, he's still my son. Right?"

"Yes. Our next task should be finding out a way to prove that you can watch over him and protect him. It helps that you weren't with him when he killed that man, but it's still a blemish nonetheless. Millions of people saw it. It's everywhere."

She knew that. It wouldn't be easy. It wouldn't be easy at all. But she had to try. For Kakashi. For herself.

He continued, taking several documents out of the bag he'd carried across his chest. "These are the only documents that say you and Kakashi are mother and son."

She took the papers and skimmed them as he spoke.

"There is also the interrogation and phycological analysis that we'd given him in there. I've taken precautions in deleting any files online for them to be hacked into." His next words felt heavy on her shoulders. "You have the only information pertaining to him at all. It's on you. I can't carry them. Too many have access to my office."

She bowed her head in thanks. Overcome with happiness. Someone was on her side. Someone saw what she saw. "Thank you, for everything, Detective Tsukauchi."

A genuine smile graced his tired face. It look like he'd barely gotten any sleep these last couple of days. Not that she was surprised. She barely had any as well. Felt like her eyelids were going to give out any moment.

He smiled again. The next moments he was putting his shoes back on.

"Hey, I never asked. What makes you believe in Kakashi?"

He continued to tie his shoes. "The truth is is that it's not the case believing in him. I've spoken with him. One on one. What he did—was something he'd done before. While a shock to the world, it was nothing for him." He finished the knot with a strong pull and stood up, picking up his umbrella. "To me, that's wrong. It's obvious he grew up around that sort of thing. Killing. Wherever he grew up, it was normalized.

He feels nothing. No fear. No anxiety. No remorse. He only shows calculating cruelty and anger. To me, it was only a question of what was the right thing to do."

He smiled at her. "This was what I came up with."

XxX

Todoroki had been the least hurt during the battle. Naturally, that meant that investigators came to him to ask what happened from his point of view. He'd been less than helpful. He only told what he had done since he'd gotten there. Even though he knew, he never mentioned why Tenya had been there. He would let Tenya tell them, if he wanted to.

He'd been hounded for details about everything. He told them about Stain's Quirk, Blade's Quirk, and what had happened since he joined the fight as well as why. He heard whispers of executes deciding whether they would be punished or not. They took down both villains in the public's eye. Each of them went against the Heroes they were learning under. If it was to be decided that they would get punished he wondered what would that punishment be. Would they get kicked out of UA? That was probable, but unlikely. They could probably scrape away saying it was self-defense. It depended on what the other two would say.

After a couple of days, he was let back into his room. This room was one he shared with both Midoriya and Tenya. Kakashi had long been separated from them. He had yet to see the younger boy since they were on that battlefield. That dumbass killed someone on camera. Todoroki remembered seeing him from Kakashi's memories, nothing more than a passing glance but still prevalent. Why did Kakashi want to kill him so bad? Why did his village make him so comfortable in doing so?

His stomach turned at the thought. Truly, no one knew the truth about Kakashi. And how truly horrifying he was.

The creaking of a bed broke through his thoughts and he turned to the source. It was from Tenya, sitting up and rubbing his head, staring at him.

"You ok? You've been out for a bit." He told him.

Tenya yawned, stretching then rolled his stiff neck around a few times. "I'm fine. What happened? I know I beat Stain, but after that it's all blurry."

"The strain from the events probably made you tired. Before the doctors come in to check on you, I'll tell you all the news that's been going." Arms crossed as his feet dangled off the side of the bed, Todoroki grew serious. "It's a lot, so listen closely."

He took his time explaining what he knew. The entire time was like a daze for him, like he was recounting the events for himself. It made him think about what he had seen. Things he never thought he would. He could still smell the death that wafted through the alleyway. He could visualize the defenseless, motionless bodies. Two, he could help against. He hadn't been there at the time. But the last one, he could've trusted Tenya more, and helped Midoriya. Kakashi wouldn't be branded a villain that way, and everything would be better.

Once he got done explaining, his head whirled as he clutched it. The memories were coming back. Maybe stress caused him to forget. All of there fates were uncertain, after all, but now that he had the time to reflect, he wished he forgot all over agin. Permanently.

"I-it's that bad?" Tenya asked in a small voice.

"Yea," he replied looking down. "Between Midoriya's extensive injuries, what the commission might do to us, and Kakashi's situation, I just don't know what to say about any of it."

Reality often sunk in hard.

"We used our powers against those villains for all to see, they won't easily overlook this." He looked up to stare Tenya right in the eye. "All of this happened because of you, you know that right?"

"Yea, I'm sorry."

Todoroki was hoping that Tenya would fight against it. It made him want to wince at the way he said those words, but he decided to sigh instead.

"But I'm not blaming. Honestly, we could've tried to escape. It would've helped our case."

I-I'll tell them it was all because of me and take full responsibility. This-"

"Don't bother." Todoroki gave him a stare to show his mind was unflinching. "I've already told them what actually happened, and besides, I would never let you go through that because you made a mistake. We're heroes in training for a reason. Not only you and I, but all those we know still have room to grow."

"Let me take responsibility, Todoroki. I understand how you feel, but it'll make me fell better if-"

"How do you think it'll make our comrades feel if you do this? Don't be selfish. Think. What would they feel knowing they lost their Class Rep?" He tapped his own head. "You're smart, use your brain. You know what they'll think. This isn't only about you. It's about all of us."

Tenya's face was uneven. It was clearer to see without his glasses in the way. Even while his gaze was downcast, Todoroki knew the look in those eyes. He knew he felt shame and guilt, but he had to get over it. He can't hurt himself more by doing something he clearly didn't want to do. He had a choice. He didn't have to sacrifice himself for them.

"Then...what should I do?"

The answer rolled off his tongue before he even registered the question in his head.

"Become a hero everyone can be proud of, and the leader that Class 1-a can count on."

His face didn't show any emotion at first, before a single sniff broke him into tears. Todoroki was more than a little surprised.

"Eh? Y-You're crying?!"

Tenya didn't want to be seen like that and rubbed the tears away quickly with his forearm. "S-Sorry. I couldn't hold it." He sent a reassuring smile. "I'm fine. You just made me realize something. I'll become a better hero. For everyone."

Todoroki couldn't help himself, a small smile gracing his face.

A/N: Sorry for the extended break. Couldn't find the right words to end the chapter on, or really what perspective but I think I've found that. Maybe. Anyways, the takeaway from this chapter and the next one are the aftermath of Kakashi's and Blade's actions through this world and how this causes a significant ripple in the Mha Verse that I will try to explore to the best of my abilities.

I will be sticking to the main POV'S like Kakashi, Ryukyu, Todoroki, Midoriya, and Aizawa. Other important POV'S will include Mirko, Bakugo, Edgeshot, Pakkun, Toga, Shiguraki, All Might, and more. I've yet to decide everyone that will be included.

Anyways, next chapter will wrap of the Disaster In Hosu Arc and move into the Shinobi Mystery Arc. This Arc will essentially act as a transition Arc with its own story that will move into the New Order Arc.

I've read the concerns on the story and I do plan to go back to early chapters and fix things as well as better explain what exactly is going on. Relatively, I'm new to writing, and most of the time when I get out of groove, I tend to use other fanfic writing styles instead of my own and it usually makes what is going on confusing. I apologize. I also realize I take my inspiration from other works to serious and put them in my work not realizing that it may not work for the character I'm working on.

I apologize if that makes things hard to read. Anyways, I do want to say that Kid Kakashi is very, very hard to write. Like I literally stress for new upcoming arcs because I think what I think he would do would be considered stupid by others, and while I want to ask I don't want to spoil it. So anyone who PM's me, I will tell them my notes on upcoming Arcs and receive the feedback I DESPERATELY need.

Well, that's all from me. Thanks for reading and please leave a comment on what you think or ways I can improve my writing style. Anything helps! See you next chapter!
