(The Past)

Master Z didn't send anyone to get me. Not after I shared my food and he killed the girl and cut off my ear. I had displeased him. He was disappointed in me. I hated that.

Even though I hated him, I hated displeasing him more. My sole purpose was to please him, and I failed. There was nothing else to my life than serving him. If I couldn't even get that right, I didn't deserve to breathe. Or at least that was what he told me the last time he saw me.

I kept wondering when he would send someone to kill me, or if he would do it himself. Every time I heard the lock of the door, I would close my eyes and pray. For what, I didn't know. Did I want to die? Did I want to live? I had no idea.
