With Pipi's help, Lia changed out of the dress and flopped onto her bed; she had no strength to wash up.
"What happened?" Pipi asked, holding the dress in her arms. "What about the culprit? Are you hurt?"
"We didn't catch him today. And no, I didn't get hurt. I'm just tired from wearing that uncomfortable dress."
"You have to get used to it; you will have to wear it more often now."
No, Pipi. I don't think that day will come.
Lia promised herself that she would not wear any dresses like that if she ever returned to her life as a woman.
"Anyway, wash that dress and send it back to House Selby."
"Yes, my lord."
"I'm hungry. Is dinner ready yet?"
"Come down in about five minutes; it should be ready by then."
Pipi peered at Lia's limp body dubiously before rushing out of the room.
Lia remained in bed hugging her pillow long after Pipi had gone.
She didn't want to think. Besides, she felt as though she were coming down with something.
