A few hours later when Amber and Esmeralda reached California, they heard straight to the company office to meet the boss who also happened to be Esmeralda's ex boyfriend– Oliver Jenner. Throughout out the ride, Esmeralda was silent as she had been thinking a lot about some important matters that needed her to think about them. 

When they were about to reach the company office, Esmeralda heard Amber saying, "You need to talk to Oliver."

Esmeralda turned to look at her bestfriend who was in agent mode. They had decided together that she was not going to talk to Oliver at all and if conversation needed to be taken place between them, it would take place through Amber, her agent but here it seemed things were going differently. 

"Don't give me this look, "Amber said to Esmeralda. 

"Which look?" Esmeralda asked her.
