As we headed back to our hotel room, to collect our stuff my heart broke for Tempest. She hasn’t said a word since we left and is walking like she is on autopilot. Alex kept a hold of her. We were both a little scared that she might do something crazy like trying to find Dominic by jumping into the ocean after him.

As I shut the room door behind us and Alex sat her down on the couch, she spoke for the first time since we left the café.

“Layla? If I remember correctly Sirens eat the hearts of the men, they lore and capture, right? So how long do we have to save Dominic?”

“Tempie, don’t think about that ok? We are going to find him and save him.”

“Sirens were once Nymphs millennia ago according to mythology. The goddess Demeter turned them into Sirens as punishment for not guarding her daughter; the goddess Persephone. And thus, enabling the god Hades to kidnap her and so taking her to the underworld where she became his bride.”
