Yakushi High Field.
"Just like that", said Rei as he nodded observing Kazuma's catching skills.
'I need to make him into an excellent catcher for next year and this year for the upcoming matches. Good thing he is a quick learner, since whenever I give him advice regarding something he immediately follows it and fixes his mistake. Another reason I am helping Kazuma is that when next year new catchers come, they are going to learn from their Senpai so he can teach them and help them as well when the time comes', thought Rei.
"Did you do the catching drills I told you about?", asked Rei.
"YEAH!! Honestly, I was doubting you in the beginning since you gave me such simple drills, I thought it wouldn't be effective but when I continuously did them, I can feel those drills helping me", said Kazuma smiling brightly.
Rei nodded smiling. 'I knew those minor league catching drills would come in handy someday', he thought.
"Next match I'm going to increase my speed so be ready. On second thought, let's practice more. I'll throw my fastest pitches. Don't be scared now", said Rei.
Kazuma's smile immediately disappeared. 'THIS DEVIL…I just thought my practice finished but now more PRACTICE…'.
Taking a deep breath, Kazuma nodded and readied himself to take his position.
Rei threw his 150-155KM Pitches.
Rei was impressed with Kazuma at this point because he only missed a few of the pitches. It is bad but compared to before he has improved.
"Let's continue for a few more hours", said Rei. He wanted to drill into Kazuma so he could catch his fast pitches.
After a few hours, at night.
Kazuma was worn out with dust all over his body. He was panting hard as he laid on the field exhausted.
Rei was exhausted as well but he could stand on his feet at least.
Both of them have been practicing various things. Rei made Kazuma do Catching drills that he saw catchers doing in his previous life. They took breaks in between playing catch ball.
"Let's hope this training sticks to you", said Rei chuckling.
"I will remember this all my life", commented Kazuma.
Rei chuckled and said, "Well, alright. I think it's about time I head home".
"Wait…pick me up from the floor I can't get up", said Kazuma. He didn't hear a reply from Rei and said, "Hello…Hello!!".
'Ugh that arrogant prick just left me here', thought Kazuma annoyed.
Rei's Room, Fujikawa House.
'I'm so exhausted. I feel like sleeping but I have to do something important then I'll sleep', thought Rei as he lay on his bed after using the bathroom.
Taking a deep breath, Rei opened the system interface, to check his status.

Comment: A Talented Pitcher]
'I barely have had any coins left after my shopping spree, but I guess I gained some back after striking out the players from the last 2 matches. They were ridiculously weak though that's why I didn't get a lot of coins which sucks. My other stats increased a lot, I think it's the grip stat that affected my other stats too. My gyroball increased by 2 levels and my forkball increased by 1 level', thought Rei observing his status screen.
Scrolling down the status screen, Rei was shocked to find out that the stamina's unique skill can't level up. 'I mean it is kind of reasonable since If it did level up then the skill will be broken', he thought optimistically.
'The unique skill 'Eye' has not leveled up yet. Which is a bit disappointing', thought Rei.
Rei sighed and as he was about to go offline a new notification appeared Infront of him on a blue screen.
[A New Mission has been issued. Would you like to view the details?]
Rei excitedly clicked to find out more about the Mission.
[Fall Tournament
Dominate 3 schools in the Fall Tournament. (The Host allows no hit during the match).
Reward: A skill of your choice from the system shop.
Penalty: Drop a level and cut 10 attributes from all your stats.]
[Will the host accept the mission?]
Rei was stupefied as he read the details of this mission. 'Are you kidding me? That penalty is way too excessive b-but the reward is way too sweet. I mean whenever I pitch, I rarely even allow a hit but this mission is a gamble. Isn't this a setup since I only have 3 more schools to go to until the end of the tournament? Ummm…I can accept this mission since I'll convince that careless coach to let me pitch throughout all the innings. But my best bet will be to have called games in the 3rd and 4th rounds and, in the finals, it probably won't be a called game since it will most likely be Seido. HAHAHAHA…', he thought.
Sighing Rei decided to accept the mission thinking 'Big Risk Big Reward'.
[The Mission is successfully assigned to the host]
The Next Day, Akikawa Academy, The Meeting Room.
"Our next opponent, Yakushi High", said Ozaka, their coach.
"Wasn't Yakushi called the 'Dark Horse team'?
"What Dark horse? Well, that's not true anymore".
"They won all two matches so far".
"Yakushi High. A team is known for its offensive style of playing. They have a strong batting lineup. Previously they lacked defense wise but now since Rei Fujikawa has transferred to that school. The team is starting to shape up", said You Shunshin fixing his glasses as he analyzed their opponent.
"Oh, that Rei, the one who used to be with Seido".
You Shunshin nodded and said, "Our main concern should be him on the team since he is a major threat to us. His batting and pitching both are amazing. You never know when Yakushi's coach might send him to the outfield. So, let's think of a way to counterattack him".
Everyone nodded and tried to brainstorm a few ideas.
After a few minutes, You Shunshin was left hopeless as he didn't get any ideas from his teammates.
'I guess I can only rely on myself', he thought.
