I looked back and jumped backwards at the sudden appearance of the unknown entity. What I saw before me was a middle-aged man dressed in a yellow suit and a pair of shade glasses.
What surprised me the most was the aura that came off of him. He had a pure aura that was filled with a powerful light, as if he was light himself. Only one thought came into mind. When I was with Vice-Admiral Garp, I was curious at the powers that could command such powers or stood above him. I have heard of a few of them, mainly the 3 Admirals and the fleet-admiral. Vice-Admiral Garp was such a free and powerful, unrestraining man. I thought such people above him would also possess such characteristics.
With the sudden appearances, the surrounding crowd also began to speak and I heard who have arrived before me, it was admiral Kizaru.
Isuka frightened quickly came forward and tried to defend me, " Admiral Kizaru, Captain Michael has not been long into our side of the world. He does not know the untold customs and rules..."
However, Admiral Kizaru ignored her words as he continued to look at me.
Kizaru, " Young man. We have read the report of what you did with vice-admiral Draw. Although his action was unsatisfactory, a young man of your rank should not have been the one to stop him. You should have just given a report and we would be the one to take actions. Not only this, but your actions also caused the escape of Portgas D. Ace. Taking things further, you have just struck a Celestial Dragon... Your punishment would not be light, even if the hero of marines stepped up for you."
Kizaru shook his head in disappointment. " You would have to come with me. I will take you to the fleet admiral personally."
Taking a few steps back, I was unsure of what to do? Should I run? However, how can I escape in front of a person who appeared before I could even notice him. With his powers I don't think just taking to the sky would work before I am shot down.
Kizaru said in a weird and long dialogue, " Young man. I hope that you won't force my hand and come peacefully."
I looked at the man before me. He had his hands in his pocket and looked relaxed and unguarded. However, as one of the three admirals in the entire world, I knew that he was no weakling. If anything, he might be one of the strongest in the world.
At least stronger or as strong as Vice-admiral Garp who I had no chance against.
Seeing that I had no other choice but to follow Admiral Kizaru I gave up.
Kizaru, " At least you are smart enough to not fight against me, young man."
He then looked at the remaining marines. " Continue your way towards the navy headquarters and treat vice-admiral Draw's injuries. We will investigate Vice-admiral's actions and punish him accordingly. I will take Captain Michael personally."
With a flash of light, we disappeared on the spot.
----
After a few minutes of traveling through various forms of light, we soon appeared at the entrance of the closest marine headquarters.
We soon reached the doors that led to the admiral's room. Announcing his arrival, Kizaru led me to the room where the fleet admiral Sengoku was sitting there, frowning while looking at Garp who was laughing out loud and without restraint.
Sengoku yelled again, " GARP! This is not time to laugh! Do you know what the man you brought from skypiea did? The higher ups are demanding a punishment. The case with the vice-admiral could be ignored, but he dared hit a celestial dragon! A marine at that!"
Garp stiffled his laughed, before uncontrollably laughing again.
Garp, " Sengoku, don't be so uptight. It's not my fault that he didn't know the ins and outs of the world yet. There was not enough time to teach him everything."
Sengoku who couldn't control his anger, punched Garp and yelled, " Who's fault is that?! You just came in, saying that you found a strong person who could help us fight against the pirates, yet look at what he has done! We had already given him an exception of jumping through the ranks, causing other marines to become angry being skipped by some random person. But now, they will also question our judgement."
He then looked towards us, " You. Michael! Do you realize the sort of trouble you have caused?!"
However, how could I go and take my actions back. Even if I did manage to go back in time, I will also do the same thing, even knowing the repercussions.
" What exactly have I done wrong fleet admiral? All I saw was a disgusting human who was enslaving people... torturing them. No one deserves to live like a slave."
Sengoku, " You fool! There are rules to cases like these. The powers that they belong to, are above us the navy. We have no choice but to overlook their actions."
" No choice? There is always a choice old man." No longer giving the respect of the man before me title as I continued, " How can we symbolize and represent justice and order when we allow such things to happen. How can we overlook such actions. They dare to call themselves god. The god I know would never accept such actions, yet alone do it."
Sengoku yelled out, " Enough. You are not from our world. The only reason why you have not been executed is because of this darn bafoon. You will be imprisoned indefinitely until we find the suitable punishment for you."
Nodding my head, two men from outside the door came in, put in my sea stone cuffs and directed me out of the room while kizaru, garp, and sengoku stayed inside the room.
Kizaru watched as I left the room and looked at sengoku, " Sengoku, although a little misguided, that young man possesses real strength and does indeed have principles that are aligned with the navy. At such a young age, he is already able to fight and defeat a vice-admiral. It would be a waste to kill such a young man."
It was at this time that Garp finally got serious as he stopped laughing and spoke seriously, " After roger died, the pirates in this era are getting more and more chaotic, more and more dangerous. Although it wasn't still like our times, the potential the young pirates are showing will be more than we can handle. We need a balance in these times. Although we have the shichibukai, they were formally pirates after all, it is hard to trust them. With an addition to this young man and some new young marines, it can give us a lot more power and freedom to go against the pirates."
Sengoku listened carefully to their words as he contemplated on what to do with the young skypiean man. Especially, the powers that he possessed, if nutured properly, his power will be on the level of the admirals, which will greatly supressed the unrest in this pirate age and help the people relax at the same time help raise their navy's power.
Sengoku pinched the bridge of his nose, " I will see what I can do."
-----
About two months have passed since I have been imprisoned. There were guards constantly watching me as I just sat, chained to the floor. With only a small window that allowed the sun to shine through the dark and cold jail cell, I can barely see the birds that flew into the sky, free and unrestrained.
I began to miss the time where I was also like that. Was it a wrong choice to join the navy? I left the life of a soldier to become another soldier. However, this was all I knew. Despite my short time as a navy soldier, I saw much of the world and have indeed helped wherever I could. But was this all that I can do? Is this all that I am?
Just then I heard several footsteps from the long hallway that led to my jailcell.
The sound of steps then reached and stopped at the front of my cell. There stood Garp and another man who I was not familiar with. He was a tall man with dark skin, an afro, and a pair of shades.
Garp, " Hey michael. How was life inside the cell?"
I moved my arms that was still chained to the ground and replied coldly, " Restraining. I can barely see the sun, I am not allowed to fly out. I hate it here. Garp... let me out."
Garp chuckled softly, " Young man, do you still want to be a marine?"
I looked at him fiercly and then looked away, slightly ashamed. To be honest, I still have great admiration for this man. The tales that the guards spoke in his presence. The legacy that he created from the feats that he made. It was known that despite being one person, he was able to rival the king of the pirates. Although I don't know such a man, being able to be called king of the pirates was alone to know that the king of the pirates, Gol D. Roger, was a strong man who led a strong pirate crew.
I finally replied, " I... I don't know old man. I have been a soldier all of my life, I'm afraid that it is all I know. Even if I am stripped of my title and given freedom, I'm sure that I would continue to help the innocent people who are in danger."
Garp smiled as he said, " Your actions will be forgiven under one and only one condition."
I frowned as I sensed the restrictions that will be put on me and interrupted him, " That does not mean that I will still join you. If I see those celestial dragons again... treating such people like slaves, I will destroy them all if I have to."
Garp chuckled once again and said, " Now, now. You can forget about that useless group of people who do nothing but sit on their little thrones. All I want from you is to continue what you are doing, protecting the people from harm."
I smiled wirily at his words. From just Garp's words alone, I know that he also have hatred for those celestial dragons, but he chose to turn a blind eye and continued to only help the people and stop the pirates from causing chaos from around the world.
I looked at him once again and said, " As long as I won't have to follow their orders, I will accept the deal."
Garp smiled and said, " The condition of your release and your actions being forgiven is the following, you will follow this man. He will teach you more about this world and will also act as a restraint should you go against the navy and celestial dragon again."
The tall dark man finally spoke up as he sighed, " You know with my position, it shouldn't be one to babysit anyone. But since this is a favor from you Garp, I will do so."
He looked at me and said " Hello young man from skypiea, I am Admiral Aokiji. You will follow me from now on, until I deem you worthy to be out on your own again and not cause any trouble."
