It took a short few days to assess the damage that Enel and his crew had done in the time that they invaded the place. During this time I had gotten the chance to see and meet the people who were said that came from the land below several centuries ago, along with what came with them.
The land was entirely different from the ones that I had ever seen or touched. It was firm yet soft at the same time. It was hard to describe as instead of the clouds that our lands were formed on, it felt like the foundation for life that it can support was far more stable. I saw the wildlife never before seen such a large forest of luscious greenery and even the large unique animals that ran through the land.
The tribe of people who guarded this land was called the shandia.
Since their first arrival, the people of Shandia and Skypiea fought over this land until Gan Fall managed to take over as God and tried his best to settle this peacefully.
Thankfully, they also got a taste of Enel's small army that he brought over, and again, thankfully, I was able to judge correctly and managed to get the right people and help saved several of them which help get them and reminded them that Gan Fall was a good person.
Things went well, and together with the Shandia tribe, we walked through the land and eventually reached an area with several buildings that were ruined and were made of stone. As we continued on our walk we saw these buildings were getting shinier and more of a 'golden' color. I asked what this golden structure was made out of as I it was also something I have never seen.
He began telling me from what he knew of the history of Shandia and its once promise to a visitor from a distant land who helped saved their people from a disease. He talked about the value of this gold stone and how many people valued it. I also picked up the stone and felt how strong and sturdy it was. It was stronger than any material I have held, and I could see why, although ruined, the structures have still existed through this long period.
We reached higher and higher and soon saw a golden bell standing high above perched on a cloud. When the shandia people caught sight of this bell their eyes grew into tears and excitement. This was a sight that they have wished to see for soo long in their lives. This was the purpose for the long fight to protect this land. It was through this bell that was made to tell the visitor that saved them that they were here and will always be there to guide them to his shores. But, the bell was still too far for any of them to travel on. In fact it was much larger than I expected too. Plus the weight and color of the bell, I assumed that it was also made of gold.
However, how could I let this group of warriors just stare from afar and be in awe of the object that they so desperately fought to protect.
I flew up into the sky, and soon reached the bell that was held by two large support pillars. This is going to be heavier than I thought.
I flew under the center piece as I started to carry it, but it would not budge. I started gathering more and more energy, eventually increasing my strength by 10, but I could still barely move it. It eventually took about 15 times my original power to life the entire structure up and slowly fly down to where the others were.
Immediately they kneeled in gratitude thanking me for bringing it down. They all gathered and touched it, one by one as tears started to fall. I also observed the Golden bell and its structure, it wasn't until I saw some scribbles that looked to be some ancient writings.
The chief of the shandia people also noticed and saw this and said, "I believe those are the words passed down and given to our ancestors to protect. The bell itself was something that was given to us to protect. Our people have been keeping this promise for as long as possible, waiting until our mission is completed."
I thought long and hard about his words. Such stubborn loyalty to their cause. If it were me, seeing such strange words and seeing several of my people dying to protect an object... I would rather never look at it again.
The leader of Shandia then hit it the center piece of the bell and soon the bell resounded after centuries since its first ring.
The bell ring loud and deep, however it was also gentle and peaceful. This was a beautiful tone that resounded throughout the whole land. From hearing this bell sound, there were probably several people who coveted and wanted it for themselves. It was just that beautiful of a sound.
"Thank you, for letting me hear the sound of your tribe."
The leader of shandia shook his head and grabbed my hands, "No. It was us who should've thanked you, not only for saving us, but bringing back this heritage that my people have fought so long for and is back in our hands."
It was not long after until we celebrated for this occasion, one for the shandia people regaining their land and object, and the other for another peaceful time to come as Gan Fall was still the one who watched over them.
Later that night I was sitting down looking at the people who had fallen to the ground in peaceful and happy sleep from the party that took the whole day.
Gan Fall "So you want to know about the people of the land under these skies huh."
"Yes, although shandia originated from the land below, they have been here for too long and were part of the ancient races as you can tell by the writings and message on the golden bell. They are not an ordinary group of people."
Gan nodded, " I can't tell you too much too as I've also not been down there much. However, I can tell you about two people who I grew to like very much. One was a pirate named Roger. I think his full name was Gol D. Roger. He was an unfathomable man. He was young, strong, and free. He also had some uniqueness to him unlike I have ever seen before."
" A pirate huh. It's strange to hear so much about those people. From the stories my father used to tell me, pirates were unruly and viscous. Stealing and killing wherever and whoever they want."
Gan Fall " That's also true, I can't deny that as we also get them from time to time. That's why I said that this particular pirate was unlike any other I have met. He's probably an old man like me and retired, or he may have already died."
" What about the other person?"
Gan Fall smiled and laughed a little, " He was just as unique as the pirate that I told you about. His name was Garp; Monkey D. Garp. He was also a strong man, but he had a strong sense of justice for the people. He was a soldier, to be more specific a marine soldier. He was chasing the pirate for a long time. He was a aloof man who liked to do what he pleased but at the same time it seems like he was chained by something. Nevertheless, he was an unpredictable man."
" The world is a large place after all. There is bound to be a few of those."
Gan Fall " Yes. The blue sea people below live on several and larger pieces of Vearth that we have here. I suppose that they support a larger and more vast civilization we could ever hope to contain. Although the sky covers the land and is just as vast, it can't support life like the land below does. That's why the people before coveted this land so much. I assume that when you go down, you'll face and experience many things, maybe when you feel like you have seen enough, then perhaps you can come back here and tell me more about it."
His young but old face looked excited but restricted. Perhaps I have given him too much life energy. Maybe he was already thinking of stepping down as God after a few years and retiring and becoming a simple old man.
Like this we contemplated and thought more about life while making some small talk throughout the rest of the night.
