Capítulo 23: I'm good
"No thanks, I prefer doing what I enjoy. Staying in a kitchen isn't one of them..." Alvar answered calmly while he lightly shook his head.
"Kid, I know you're an adventurer but that's an extremely dangerous job. Familia members usually stay close to their deity so the fact that you are staying here proves that you either aren't in a Familia or you are on bad terms with them." Mama Mia stared into Alvar's eyes and continued.
"I will give you your pay depending on how good you are. It's a much better offer than for you to risk your life in the dungeon just for a couple of valis."
"Sorry, but I still prefer being an adventurer." Alvar said with no hesitation.
'If I have to work here then I won't have any time to spend on my experiments. Besides, the excuse of being in the dungeon is way easier to use for when I'm returning so late.' He thought
Mamma Mia let out a sigh and asked " Then what's your level, kid? And are you in a Familia?"
"Not in a Familia and I have never been in one." Alvar answered.
Mamma Mia frowned and said "So you are going into the dungeon as a freelancer with no Falna? Do you have a death wish? The dungeon isn't all sunshine and rainbows you know. Going down there alone much less without a Falna is pointless! Not only won't you gain any excelia to grow stronger, but you will also be stuck on the first floor with death looming over you. Kid, you do have talent and I noticed that but you will be wasting that talent in the dungeon."
Alvar shook his head and said "I'll still continue going in the dungeon. It doesn't matter if it seems pointless to you, but it isn't for me."
Just when Alvar finished saying this an adventurer group barged into the pub. They are quite a famous group and everyone knows them.
They are the Loki Familia's leading group after all!
Cali, Tiona and Riveria were the only ones though. Cali and Tiona wanted to go to the Hostess of Fertility to drink and relax after the expedition. The others agreed, but they knew how their goddess, Loki, acts and went to go get her. Going to the Hostess for a drink without her would cause a tantrum. They left Riveria with Cali and Tiona to keep an eye on them though.
"You two really are a handful..." Riveria sighed.
"Sorry, mom." Cali giggled while earning herself a glare.
"Mom shouldn't worry so much! We won't be causing any trouble!" Tiona joined in.
Riveria just glared at them and took them to an empty place to sit and ordered some drinks and food.
"So! Cali! Can you please talk to me about this mystery man?! Is he your boyfriend? How long have you two been together? How far have you two gone? Who is he?" Tiona began rapid firing questions at Cali while she let out a wry smile and took a quick and sneaky glance at Alvar who is still 'talking' to Mamma Mia.
Riveria noticed the glance, but she couldn't figure out who she glanced at and got curious.
'Is he in this pub?' A glint appeared in her eyes briefly.
Cali who saw that glint felt a sudden shiver and looked at Riveria and plainly said "No. Don't even think about it."
"...I did not even say anything yet..." Riveria let out a wry smile.
"Your eyes are saying more than enough." Cali said
"Don't ignore me!" Tiona yelled with a pout which caused Cali to laugh.
They started drinking and laughing and after about half an hour the rest of the group with Loki walked in and joined the others.
Mamma Mia left Alvar alone ten minutes or so ago and was writing things inside his diary. The moment when Loki entered the Hostess he instantly felt her aura.
'So that's Loki...' Alvar thought when he glanced at her.
She has light red hair that is tied in a ponytail and red eyes. She is currently wearing jeans and a shirt that shows off her stomach.
"CALI!!!!!" Loki screamed and instantly tried to jump onto Cali while Cali just threw a bottle of wine at Loki which instantly drew her attention and she instantly caught the bottle.
'...I am suddenly feeling very bad for the Loki Familia members...' Alvar thought noticing that all of them are deadpanning.
"... Good to see you are doing well Loki." Cali sighed and chuckled a bit at her goddess's antics.
"Of course! I'm doin' gud." Loki said after drinking the remaining wine inside the bottle.
"I'd be doing better if you give me another bottle thought." Loki said with a grin.
Finn and the rest shook their heads and laughed while they all bought some alcohol and food while chatting with each other. after a while, they all started getting drowsy and Cali sneaked away from their table and sat next to Alvar, who started smiling after he noticed her.
Cali smiled as well and said "I think I have an answer to that problem of yours."
She also pointed to the word in Alvar's diary that meant "Crystal" which instantly got Alvar interested.
Alvar handed her a bracelet which she put on causing her presence to nearly disappear. Alvar also lowered his presence and talk telepathically to Cali through the bracelet and said
"We can talk inside my room. I don't want people to hear our talk about these crystals."
Cali nodded her head and followed Alvar to his room without anyone noticing that they disappeared.

Syr ran inside the Hostess of Fertility with interest and hoped to talk to Alvar again. But when she walked inside she didn't see him anywhere which caused her to feel extremely confused and frustrated.
For the first time in her entire existence, she began to doubt her own ability and walked towards Ryuu and asked in a worried tone "Has Alvar returned yet? It's already pretty late and I don't see him anywhere."
Ryuu nodded and said "Yes, he is sitting right the-" She stopped when she saw an empty seat and her expressionless face turned into one of confusion.
'I didn't even notice him walk off.' She thought.
"I think he either went back into his room and went outside again." Ryuu said while continuing her job at the counter.
"He should be in his room then. I don't think he would be going out this late at night." Syr nodded her head adamantly and was about to walk to his room but stopped when she heard Ryuu speak again.
"How are you so sure? We hardly know him. Plus since you are here I doubt Mama would let you walk off like that while it is still work hours." Hearing this she walked back to the counter and grumpily started helping Ryuu at the counter while the rest laughed.

Is back! Sorry for the delay. I will be releasing chapters once a week and perhaps more, I dunno.
I don't have a lot of confidence in writing cuz every time I write a paragraph I delete it and so on. So I am just gonna write normally. Of course, any advice is helpful and if there are any spelling errors please tell me.
