Nyana in Thea's form sat on a throne, one I have never seen before. Nyana sat still on a twisted throne of iron that pulsed with her dark energy. Beside her, Azar stood like a loyal hound, his gaze cold and unmoving. I could almost feel his smug satisfaction radiating across the room. But it wasn't him, or even her, that cut me the deepest.

Tag'arkh was strapped to a metal chair, bound with glowing iron etched with marks I didn't recognize. The energy radiating from those chains was something fierce, something meant to subdue even the strongest of wills. Beside her were the rest of our family who were also bound in chains. 

It will seem the castle had been overtaken ever since we lost the war. My mother, Irene, Yasmin and Freya, along with our children even Raven had been taken and all of them sat on their knees, except Raven who was in Yasmin's arms, wisely staying quiet.
