I didn't want to believe it! I didn't want to believe any of it! the fact that my mother had anything to do with the bracelets of damnation, I really didn't want to believe it! But the look of shock on her face which then morphed into a look of resignation made something inside of me break. I wasn't even mad about the fact that her ancestors were the one who created something so hateful and cruel, I was angry that she was the one who would even suggest it! How? How could she wish this on anyone? On me her. daughter?
"Arianne, let's talk inside." She suggested calmly.
"Why?" I asked her brokenly. "Why would you do this to me?"
My mother blinked her eyes, "I had no choice."
I scoffed at her in disbelief. "No, no, no, don't say that. You always have a choice." I told her the first tear rolling down my cheek which I hated. I didn't want to cry not in front of her, especially since she wasn't sorry at all.
