"Who am I speaking to?" A voice replied from the other line.
"This is the chairman of Taemin's sons and limited." The chairman said with pride in his voice.
"Good morning sir. We're glad to hear from such a noble and reputable organization. Please what can we do for you?" The voice which sounded more like a female rang through.
"I need to speak to your boss. Is he around?"
"Just a minute please."
"Sorry sir. He's not on seat presently but I can deliver the message that you have for him."
"I'll come and see him myself. Have a nice day."
"Thank you sir. I'll drop your message to him." The lady replied as the call went off.
There was a knock on the door.
"Come in. " Henry ordered.
Maxwell entered into the office and took a seat opposite his uncle.
"Hey, you good?" Maxwell asked his uncle as he noticed his expressions.
"Yeah…I am and you?" The chairman replied back.
"I'm good too." Maxwell replied as he scrutinized the looks of his uncle. He noticed his phone was on, showing a call he just had recently. It read "orphanage."
Maxwell got curious and wanted to ask.
"You want to adopt a kid?" Maxwell asked his uncle with curiosity on his face.
"No…why did you ask?" Henry asked his nephew without any concerns.
"Your phone…you seem to keep in touch with an orphanage home." Maxwell pointed out. His uncle say up well and retrieved his phone then switched it off.
"Oh that. No not really…I erm…I…just some work to do." His uncle said to him as Maxwell nodded, not getting interested in knowing.
"How far have you gone in finding your bride?" Henry asked Maxwell.
"Well…I'm still on it." Maxwell replied.
"For how long son? We have three days remaining…do you want to loose this contract? This could make us shoot up to the first on the top list in tis country." Henry said with worriedness in his voice.
"I know uncle…just…I'll be fine. Don't worry."
"Do you need me to get one for you?" Henry offered to help.
"No, not really. Actually, I've found my bride already. I'm just waiting for the day to arrive." Maxwell replied.
"Oh really? Tell me about her. How is she like? Is she a daughter from the elite family?" Henry asked his nephew.
"Don't worry…you'll get to meet her when the time is right." Maxwell replied.
"Don't disappoint me son, okay? You know we've put in so much into this business." Henry started to nag and brag.
"Oh…I got this okay? Just give me time. I won't disappoint you like I said earlier." Maxwell replied.
"Good. Now who is she?" Henry asked curiously.
"Her name is Hazel. She is a daughter from the elite family but she doesn't seem to be interested in the marriage." Maxwell reported.
"And why is that?" Henry asked him.
"Well she claims that she loves someone else. They want to get married to each other." Maxwell replied.
"That's a problem. What's her family saying?" Henry demanded to know.
"There's not going to be two ways about it. They won't let her get married to him." Maxwell replied in a care free voice.
"Why not?" Henry asked.
"He is a janitor. His father is a blind man and his mum is late. He doesn't fit into their standards and with my position, wealth and influence in the society, they want me as a son in law to them and can't turn down my offer." Maxwell boasted.
"That's easy. I hope that janitor boy don't ruin things for us. If she still won't accept to this marriage then get her pregnant!" Henry replied unreasonably.
"Gosh…can you hear yourself?" Maxwell asked in a disgusting manner.
"Why? What's wrong with what I just said?" Henry asked him.
"I can't touch a woman! I can't make love to any woman! That's not going to happen! No woman will carry my seed." Maxwell answered.
"Boy…"
"That's final uncle! I'm leaving." Maxwell replied with an air of finality.
His uncle watched him leave.
"I have to act fast otherwise that not ruin things for me. I need him to get married and sign that contract so I can get all the money I want. This has to go according to my plan and then I'll get rid of him." Henry thought to himself as he tapped the table gently.
He picked up his phone and called the former secretary of Maxwell.
"Is this Ms. Angela?"
"Yes sir." She replied.
"Can you come into my office right now? I need to see you." He said to her and she did as she was told.
"Good day sir, you sent for me." She greeted him on getting in.
"Yes I did. Have a seat."
"Sure." She replied as she sat down opposite him.
"What can I get for you?" The chairman asked.
"No, I'm good. Thanks." Angela replied as she beamed with smiles.
"Yeah. I'd like to go straight to the point in other not to keep you for long." Henry started.
"Sure sir." Angela replied.
"Do you still love Maxwell?" The chairman asked that question which sounded like a bombshell to her.
"Excuse me?" She asked as she was taken aback by such a question. She wasn't expecting that.
"Yes Angela. You don't have to pretend. I know you do love him and so does everyone. I'm his uncle and I'll make sure you get him by all means possible."
"I'm sorry but you're mistaken." Angela protested in awe. She was still in shock by such a question.
"Look, I know you need money and I'm not asking you to do what I'm about to tell you for free. I'm going to pay you for it. I Know you do love him so much which is why I chose you for this work and plus I'll give you three million dollars which is an icing on the cake. Just say yes and you'll not only get the money but also have Maxwell as yours for a lifetime." The chairman explained with excitement.
"I'm sorry…but I don't even know what job I'm going to do. Besides, Mr. Maxwell doesn't even love me and I can't win his heart." Angela replied after some seconds of silence.
"You don't have to win his heart. I want you to do something else to get him." The chairman said to her in a low tone.
Angela looked curious, wondering what it could be that she needed to do.
"What should I do sir?" She asked, making the chairman's face lit up with a smile.
"Get pregnant for him! The chairman dropped it finally. Angela's eyes widened in shock.
"That's not possible! How can I even get into bed with someone who doesn't want me two meters close to him? Do you know what you are saying and who Maxwell is?" Angela exclaimed. Realizing she just raised her voice at the chairman, she apologized.
"That's fine. Yes, I know what I'm saying. I have everything planned out for you on how to do this. Just agree to this and you will not only get the icing on the cake but even get a promotion as the next CEO of this company. When I retire, your husband will take my place and you will take his place as his beautiful wife. What do you say?" The chairman asked her with a grin on his face.
Angela blushed at how the chairman referred to Maxwell as her husband.
"I will do it." She replied.
