Chapter-31
—-------------
Riveria complimented him as she finished healing him, "You were more amazing fighting like that."
"Thank you, but she is far more incredible than I," Yuno said, standing on his feet and fully healed.
"You are strong," Ais said flatly.
She was completely undamaged, and she didn't even appear tired.
'I have a long way to go,' Yuno reflected as he became dissatisfied with his performance during the match.
"Anyway," Riveria told Yuno, "thank you for fulfilling Ais' selfish request."
"As Ais mentor, I am grateful for this," she continued, "and if you need anything, I will do my best to fulfill it within reason."
"Hmmm..." Yuno deliberated for a moment before nodding his head.
"As a mage, you must be well-versed in magic." Riveria was enquired about by Yuno.
Riveria unconsciously nodded in response to his words.
"Could you then explain how magic works?" Even though Yuno could already use his magic through his template system, he was curious about how other people in this world used their magic.
"Of course, but could you explain why?" This request was not difficult for a royale elf who specialized in magic like her.
But she couldn't help but wonder. Why would he ask for something so simple from her instead of something more complex? After all, gaining the favor of a level 5 adventurer is not something that happens every day.
For a brief moment, Yuno considered making an excuse. After all, it's better to not tell people the truth about his magic, especially someone like her who belongs to a famous familia.
"Nothing, just that I became curious after experiencing magic for the first time," he replied, "and I want to know if I can do that too."
"Is that so?" she asked, not giving it much thought because there weren't many magicians around.
"Listen carefully then," she said after taking a deep breath and adjusting her glasses. Magic is the primary form of combat used by mages and those who have manifested it in their falna."
{E/N: If you don't want a headache like this poor editor, I recommend skipping this explanation.
"Magic is considered to be a strong power. "There are two different types of magic; congenital magic, magic based on one's own ability and race; and acquired magic, magic based on the falna given by the Gods and Goddesses."
"With the exception of chantless magic, most magic requires a specific chant to activate, and the longer the chant, the stronger the magic."
"An Ignis Fatuus occurs when the user loses control of the magic power while using magic, causing it to explode and injure the person." Magic uses the mind to cast spells, and too much of it can cause a person to faint, a condition known as Mind Down or Mind Zero."
"People naturally have one to three magic slots and can normally only learn one magic per slot." "However, most people never have any magic."
"People with one or two slots can increase their number by using a grimoire, but the absolute maximum is three, even with a grimoire."
"The development ability Mage can strengthen the power, length of time, amount of targets, and the affected area of magic, in addition to creating a magic circle when the user casts magic"
"However, some characters such as Airmid Teasanare possess a magic circle regardless of Mage for an unknown reason"
"It is also possible to use magic without a falna, though this requires training and rituals, as well as the use of a long chant systematized during the ancient times." The Elves' magic in Alf's Royal Forest has more than twelve verses."
"Magic without a falna is weaker than magic with one, making it impractical against the latter, and it has a higher chance of an Ignis Fatuus."
"Some monsters can also use magic in the form of breath attacks, such as Hellhounds' fire breath, the Black Goliath's howl, and Valgang Dragons' fire breath."
"Some people can use concurrent chanting, a high-level technique that involves casting magic while fighting or moving." Its difficulty is compared to fighting with both hands while holding a bomb due to the possibility of failing a chant or not being able to control their own magical power."
"Skill in using concurrent chanting is determined by the user's level of experience."
"I have a special technique known as chant connection," which allows her to change the strength of her magic based on the length of the chant and the use of her mind."
{E/N: I have no clue what the hell author is referring to in the line above I would just ignore it if I were you}
"Through this, I can use nine magics, giving rise to my alias Nine Hell, though I can also use them separately."
"The Elven knights in Alf's Royal Forest, my hometown, use horseback chanting, which is similar to concurrent chanting in that they leave tracking and evading up to their horses while they chant."
She nodded her head in satisfaction as she looked at Yuno, who was carefully listening to her words and looking at her as if he was admiring her.
"Are there any questions, Yuno?" Riveria inquired because magic is not something that can be comprehended solely through listening.
Yuno nodded his head and began to ask all the questions on his mind.
They said their goodbyes and parted ways after 15 minutes of doubt removal....
But before they parted ways, Yuno asked Ais if they could spar again; after all, he has pride as well.
{E/N: I see why you guys dislike Yuno now…}
His pride will not allow him to remain silent after such a thrashing.
He will challenge her again once he has gained more strength or leveled up.
Ais agreed with flames in her eyes, as if she was looking forward to it, after hearing his challenging tone.
Yuno's stamina returned after he was fully healed.
He went to the dungeon to check on something.
People only gave him a passing glance on the way. They were used to him coming to the dungeon on a daily basis, but now he only comes with his cane and no luggage.
Yuno entered the dungeon on the first floor and killed monsters up to the fifth floor as they began dropping loot and magic stones. He grabbed them and used his skill.
[ Magic Stone ]

He was taken aback after reading the description.
In his previous world, he had heard from his brothers that in games, you could sell anything, but it appears that this is only true in games, not in real life.
'But it appears that my system has a sense of humour,' an unexpected smile appears on his face after reading the reason.
"Well, I guess I'll have to go look for more items that can be traded in for units."
He stood up and began his quest to find units for skills.
[ Magic Stone ]

"Not this one, either."

"If magic stones aren't working, let's try with dropped items," Yuno muttered to himself after his search yielded no results.
He went over all of the dropped items he found while hunting.
[ Kobold Nail ]

"It's still unchangeable."

"This is starting to irritate me!" He became frustrated as he received no results.
"Maybe I should go and buy some weapons to test on them," Yuno murmured to himself, remembering his cane, which can exchange for units, is an item, so maybe weapons can only exchange for units.
*sigh*
"However, if it fails, it will be a waste of money," he says, despite the fact that his grandfather was a blacksmith.
However, he lacks the necessary tools to create anything. He's now debating whether it's better to buy a weapon or the tools to make one.
Furthermore, if he purchases the equipment now, it will be useful in the future as well.
{E/N: For the record, I TRIED, REALLY TRIED. But there is only so much I can do with what the author has given me to edit so if this chapter's readability went down you know why.}
