After an hour, the technician came out with the results. The receptionist printed the content and handed the reports over to Qin Yan.
After getting the reports, Qin Yan opened them to confirm her suspicions. As expected, there was something terribly wrong with the soup. The reports mentioned that there was a substance in the soup that suppressed the thyroid gland of the person consuming it. This resulted in the deficiency of thyroid hormones in the body which in turn caused a condition of hypothyroidism.
In this condition, the patient gains a large amount of weight and her body appears swollen. Also because of hormonal imbalance, there is excess sebum production which works to form acne. Moreover, the patient feels fatigued all the time and the brain development stops after a while.
Now Qin Yan realized that her ugly appearance was deliberated by someone. She was not like this always and this someone was most likely Lu Yaran.
A cold light flashed across Qin Yan's eyes as she pondered, 'Why would a mother do such a thing to her child!' Earlier she thought that Lu Yaran hated the host because of her appearance and because she was not presentable. But now she realised that the situation was much more complex. She swore to take revenge on behalf of the original owner of the body.
'Now I need to know whether this condition of mine is temporary or it has become permanent by having this substance for such a long time,' Doubting this, Qin Yan again went to the hospital and got her full body checkup done. She was informed that reports would be mailed to her by the next afternoon.
Next, she bought some accupuncture needles and went to a customised jewellery shop. She didn't have much money on her so she purchased a relatively cheap bracelet and customised it so that she could use it as a storage for the needles. After getting the bracelet, she went straight back home.
As she stepped into the living room, Qin Yan was welcomed with a flying pan. She hurriedly dodged the impact when she heard Lu Yaran cursing, "You wretch, now you are willing to come back! How dare you talk back to me! You are too daring in front of your father, right! I will show you your place," Lu Yaran raised her hand to slap Qin Yan.
Qin Yan's eyes turned cold and her body emitted a murderous aura. Lu Yaran was stunned by it. She was afraid and withdrew her hand. She frowned.
'This Qin Yan had rebelled against the heavens, hadn't she?' She pointed at Qin Yan and started cursing again.
A hint of impatience flashed across Qin Yan's eyes. She directly twisted Lu Yaran's middle finger and said faintly, "You don't have the right to scold me."
Lu Yaran was in so much pain that her face twisted. She shouted at Qin Yan, "Damn girl, do you want to rebel? I am your mother. I have the right to control you."
The scream was ear-piercing. Qin Yan dug her ear and let go of her. All the servants of the house watched in silence. They were also wondering what happened to their second miss. Normally, no matter how much she was beaten, she would not utter a single word and take all the grievances in silence. But now, she had rebelled. Maybe, her patience had worn out.
Qin Yan bent down slightly and laughed softly beside Lu Yaran's ear. "Don't worry. I will settle everything with you for how you have treated me all these years."
"Damn girl, you've rebelled against the heavens, haven't you? You're really an ingrate! I've raised you for so many years, but you actually spoke to me like this," Lu Yaran was shocked by Qin Yan's words, when she came back to her senses, she let out another round of curses.
Qin Yan ignored her and walked to her room. After reaching the room, she closed the door with a bang. Lu Yaran was frightened by the noise but her curses started again after a while.
Entering the room, Qin Yan sat on the bed and rested for sometime. After an hour or so, she woke up in a daze. She took some time coming to her senses and then got freshened up.
Then she turned her gaze to the books neatly placed on the desk in disdain. She remembered that the original host was not good in her studies. She barely gained passing marks in the school. It was totally contradictory to Qin Muran, who was always placed in Top 5 rankers in the class. Even her brother, Qin Mufeng was a straight-A student.
Glancing at the books, Qin Yan knew that the host atleast had respect for books and studies. She shook her head and said, "Since you cherish books so much, why didn't you study hard?"
After saying that, she walked over and remembered that in the past two days, she had only just finished her monthly exams. She took out a few test papers.
The red crosses that covered the exam paper immediately provoked Qin Yan's eyes. Being a top-notch Army Doctor, she possessed exceptional learning skills, one of which was photographic memory. She pulled out a chair and prepared to mark all the papers.
How can a mother do such a thing to her child!
