Capítulo 41: Sun Of Everyone's Life
Mia's POV
"Finally, tomorrow is the day when the three of us are going to fight together against the evil spirits. I hope both of you are ready. Your priority is your self-defense. As for the rest, I will handle it. So, both of you must be relaxed. Now after this whole week of observation I can tell that you both are capable of protecting yourselves. Tonight, both of you rest well and get mentally prepared if you are not", I announced to both Lin and Liam.
They both nodded.
"We are always at your command, Your Highness", Liam bowed.
Lin bowed, "He is right, Your Highness. We are at your command."
I smiled at them, "That's great then. There is one thing I want to ask both of you for the last time if any of you don't want to go for the fight then you can say it because I won't force you."
Lin stepped forward, "Your Highness, I am your most trusted subordinate and I can't bear to see you in trouble. No matter what the situation is you will always find me beside you."
I nodded and then looked at Liam.
He looked at me, "Your Highness, as you said that I am your mate. Then I think it is not proper for a mate to leave its mate in danger. Instead mates should fight against the enemy together."
I sighed happily, "Fine. But still is this both of your last decision?"
They both nodded. I was really happy because it would be the first step towards defeating my curse and securing the beasts. I looked at both of them. If Hao said that both of them are my mates then I wish there won't be any trouble among them regarding the mating issue.
"Your Highness", I heard Feng's voice.
I turned around and saw him standing with Hao. There was a sad expression on his face.
I walked toward him, "Feng, is something wrong? You look upset."
He looked down at the ground, "Your Highness, please also take me to the fight. I will protect you. I had improved a lot. If you don't believe me then ask Master Yang."
I smiled at him, "I know you want to help but you still need more practice. I don't need to ask Lin about your performance because I can see the improvements."
He knelt on the ground, "Your Highness, please take me with you. I would not bother you. I promise."
I don't know what to do with him, "First of all, have you forgotten what I told you about kneeling in front of me?"
He got up from the ground with his eyes fixed on the ground, "I am sorry, Your Highness."
I stared at him, "Why are you so eager on going to the fight?"
He looked up at the sky, "My brother was a great and brave person. When fighting he would fly high in the air with his shining sword. Most of the time he would be covered in injuries yet he would happily ignore the pain because he told me that his injuries are not painful compared to the pain of those who lost their loved ones. That's why he would try his best to not let a single scratch appear on those who are at his service or even those who are strangers because when each of those people is safe then he would be at ease."
He sighed and then a bright smile appeared on his face, "He was like a sun for me and those under his protection. Now he is no more and I want to be the sun in the life of those who are weak and seek protection. Your Highness, you are also like my brother. I had been observing you since I arrived here and found out the reason why all beasts respect you despite your age. It is because you gave me the feeling of safety and security just like my brother. You are the sun of everyone's life. I don't know when I will be the sun but until then I want to protect the sun of everyone's life. I was unable to protect the sun of my life but I should protect you."
I smiled at his words, "You know what once I also used to have sun in my life but I lost it. Or should I say that there were several suns in my life and all of them left me one by one?"
I gave out a deep sigh. I wish I could protect those around me who had loved me or cared about me.
I put my hand on Feng's shoulder and smiled, "Feng, I am sure of it that one day you will be the sun of many people's lives. That's why I don't want this sun to be harmed. Lin and Liam both had trained hard enough and then they were able to be selected. I never choose people randomly and if I choose them then there must be some reason. Before you, many young people wanted to be trained under my guidance. Most of them were extremely powerful."
I smiled and stared at him, "But I choose you. I didn't choose you because I pity you for your loss neither did I choose you because your brother was the last leader. I choose you because I saw something special in you. I can't take you for the fight but I had my plans for you. If you go to the fight with me then I would be worried about your safety and won't be able to focus. But no need to worry if there is any fight where I think you are not in danger then I will just take you there. I promise you and until then you had to train harder."
He looked at the ground with a sad expression on his face. Lin stepped towards him and put both of his hands on his shoulders, "Feng, although we had a clash with each other in the beginning now that we are master and disciple then there is no such thing. I had to agree with Her Highness that you are a great talent but we can't take a risk by taking you to such a dangerous place. As for Her Highness, you don't need to worry about her I will protect her with my own life. And she told you that she had a plan for you then you must trust her. Didn't you say that she is the sun of everyone's life? It is because they trust her. Shouldn't you be doing the same?"
Feng smiled and nodded, "Alright then."
