Brother George is having such a tough time, and she couldn't offer any help...
Slowly dropping her hand, Tara Summer bit her lip and turned around to leave.
"Ah...don't...don't..." Suddenly, a faint scream echoed from the room.
The scream wasn't loud, yet it seemed to be suppressing something, releasing an excited undertone.
Assuming she had misheard at first, Tara Summer held her breath, turned back, and pressed her ear against the door. Even through the door, she could still hear the excited screams from Robin Summer in the bedroom, "I love you...I really love you!"
Her heart dropped rapidly, suddenly constricting, as if Tara Summer's body just got struck by lightning. She felt as if her body had been cruelly torn into two pieces, along with her heart.
Her body stiffened, the sound inside the room growing louder, clearer, exacerbating the paleness of her face.
Her legs seemed weak, as if her breath was snatched away.
